Just about every year for the past 6-7 years we have a turkey nest on our property and stay here till about October then they move on to their winter home down the road. We have had as many as 13 poults from one nesting hen.
This year we had a hen show up in the spring but she disappeared only to return yesterday with one very small poult.
So the question here is.... how long ago did she mate.

I saw a strutter with a hen in early June. I don't know if they would seek a gobbler if their nest was destroyed. I saw a hen with poults during the fall season. The poults were about the size of pheasants.

Hard to say. Maybe her nest was destroyed, perhaps her poults were eaten, or maybe she didn't get to breed much.

Probably 40-50 days ago assuming she payed more than one egg before she started sitting and that the poult was 7 or so days old.
If she did only lay the one egg and started sitting, 10-14 days less. Would be my guess.
