I bought a couple of knife blanks on ebay to practice shaping the scales and finishing.

Congratulations! That looks nice. I'd think there's a bit of self-gratification in all that work. Any idea how hot it has to get for an annealing process?

Great job! I really like that blade shape. What's the length? The blade is 3.5" long the the over all length is 7 3/4"

Congratulations! That looks nice. I'd think there's a bit of self-gratification in all that work. Any idea how hot it has to get for an annealing process? I'm not sure on the exact temperature. I just built a good size fire and stuck the file in it. I left it there until the next day. It was soft enough to bend with some pressure.

Sharp looking knife. That is a lot of polishing. The image of the camera in the first photo shows how well polished it is.

I'm still learning. I'm not ready to sell anything yet. I want to make sure they will hold an edge.

Scrub I had to take another look at that knife and sheath. The beavertail is really nice, a unique material for a special knife. What is keeping the knife from cutting it's way through the sheath? I am used to seeing some cooper rivets on the sheath.

Thanks guys.
Stevein, there is a strip of leather stitched in between the front and back pieces of the sheath. It protects the artificial sinew from getting cut. When you look at the sheath from the side it looks like 3 pieces stitched together.
