Was wondering if it would be too late to plant a plot, also suggestions on what to plant.

You could plant wheat, oats, winter rye, clover, etc. still. Might even have time for turnips, if you get favorable late summer / fall weather.

It all depends when the frost hits in your area...for full maturity the window recommended by most seed companies is 60 days of growth in bulb producing brassicas.
Oats and winter Rye will be overseeded in our plots here in a week and in all honesty probably again come October for a few of them.

On the bag of Imperial Whitetail clover i have it says you can plant up to Sept 15. I am going to try and plant some wheat and clover probably thursday before i have to have surgery on the 8th. I put lime down over a month ago and disked it in twice now. The only thing is it don't look like much rain in the forecast for the next week or two. All we can do is plant it and hope for the best.

I've planted clover as late as Halloween overseeding it. Clover won't establish much this year planted int he fall but it will thrive in the spring.

Rape seed, radishes, oats, cereal rye. Just get good soil contact. If you don't have a drill, broadcast the seed and go over it with a disk or something similar

No rain in the forecast. Storms came in and we got over an inch of rain. Count on the dew when it cools down again. It is substantial and every night. Good luck
