I'm in the stand. They are harvesting beans next to me, so maybe they'll feed in my plot tonight.

Just got a text from the deer. They said to stand down tonight. 20-25 mph gusts and they said they will see me in the morning. Suits me. Smoking a venison roast. I will just attend to that.....

I'll be landing a trophy buck on Saturday for sure. He's been on my hit list for a couple years now. I'm going to set up at the church by the creek that afternoon and hope he shows up with a ring.

Sat in my treestand from 2:30-5:30. Gust started to hit some branches down, decided to start back to front of property. Ended up kicking up a bedded down doe, scared me I think more than her, she didn't even blow. Less than 10yards away I felt like I could touch her. No shot so off she went. Not sure if I will be out Saturday morning or Sunday, depends on the weather.

Sitting with my grandson during youth weekend I could have shot a dozen + squirrels on the ground. Tons of black walnuts on my place and acorns. They are working hard and fast for winter. No chipmunks though

Saw a few and 9 turkeys. Is fall turkey season open?? Had 9 at 25 yards for 5 min.s. Wasn't sure if it is open yet so didn't pull the trigger. Might be one of the coldest opening days I can remember. Whew, 4.5 set this evening and I am chilled to the bone. That wind was tough.

This is the only thing I saw this morning. I didn't get to go out this evening. Had a cross country meet to go to.

The wind was tough. I didn't think it would be too bad later in the evening, but my tree was shaking. The deer did not come to the party; maybe they'll stop by tomorrow.

Congratulations! Where is the honeymoon? We are taking the first week of waterfowl season off and hunting all week. My uncle has offered us his cabin by the Dix river in KY for a honeymoon as well, I think we may try to go when the trout are biting really well. Fiance also has many more great ideas he's been trying to pitch to me but the first two are something we can do easily on our limited budget without breaking the bank.

Made it out for about 3 hours this evening... Ended up seeing 11 deer and not an antler among them. With work in the morning I wasn't interested in shooting a doe so I just watched and started reading my latest Jack Reacher book.

Sat almost 5 hrs this evening and had the coolest encounter I've ever had deer hunting. 3 bobcats came with a few feetof my tree this evening, Mom and 2 little ones. Got to watch then play a while, climb trees, etc. The encounter ended finally with mom finally seeing me and growling/hissing at me for about 30 seconds. I don't care how big you are, a 15lb cat mad at you from a couple yards away will make you pucker a little. They can climb 20ft in about .5 second..
Was an awesome hunt. Also had a doe and yearling come in just before dark.
