Does anyone have a Ruger LCP? I am looking at a small pocket pistol and I have had good luck with Rugers. I had a Beretta 21 in .22 LR but I moved it on due to the 22 reliability. I want something in about that size to replace it.

Yep! I have had mine for about 3 yrs and carry it in an inside the pocket holster. Very user friendly with no safety (dao). The sights are low and almost invisible but you would be pointing anyway. Plenty good enough to practice with though. Mined shoots straight with most ammo, but I carry with CorBon HP. Rural King had/has them for $279.

Stevein, Yes I own one, it's the Ruger LCP in 380 caliber. A very compact little piece of firepower that I carry in my pant pockets. I modified the bottom of the clip on mine to extend the grip to allow another finger to grasp the gun. If I had to complain...it would be the excessive trigger pull. But in all reality, if I have to actually use the gun for protection I doubt I will notice how far back I have to pull on the trigger before it fires. They're a nice little gun.

As I understand it KelTec came out first and then Ruger copied the KelTec a lot. I've never seen them side by side so I don't know. One I am looking at is a SeeCamp 32 or 380

Kel Tecs are decent guns. The clone is the P3AT. I have heard of some issues. Ruger has supposedly fixed those issues. Mine has been 100% trouble free with lint, sand, and drenched in sweat. Disassemble, clean, reassemble. The LCP is what all other pocket pistols are compared to nowadays. You won't be disappointed, and if you are, sell it to me!

I think the Ruger wins it for looks - could be the tie-breaker

Thanks for all the replies. I pulled the "trigger" on one used $260 with shipping and transfer fees with 2 mags, should be at my FFL Saturday or Monday. The only knocks I have heard is the long trigger cycle but I am used to that from shooting revolvers double action. No one has had anything but good to say about function and to me that is the most important thing. I picked a 100 box of Winchester to practice with and I will try a couple of brands of HP's for carry.
DEADDEER what pocket holster do you have?

Like $25. It is rough and sticks to your pocket but smooth inside to draw gun easy. The make the wallet style holster, square so it doesnt print the gun shape, or the cell phone case looker that you wete on your belt. Another thing about a popular gun model is large choice of accessories.

The Ruger LC9S striker fired pistol or the LC9S Pro model are small enough to carry in your jacket pocket and pack more power being they are 9 mm vs the 380.
And the trigger on the LC9S are smoother.
I can shoot my LC9S Pro at the targets and get hits at 25 yards. And this is with a pistol that only has a 3" long barrel. I attribute the accuracy of this little pistol to it's excellent trigger.

I want something in about that size to replace it. Only problem that I had with the LCP was any pressure on the front of the magazine while charging the weapon caused the round to nose down into the feed ramp and jam. After making sure that my finger was not touching the magazine at all while getting the first one in the chamber, it ran like a charm and was very accurate despite the small front sight and groove for a rear sight. I ended up trading the LCP for a Smith Bodyguard .380. I got a late-enough Smith that all the bugs had been worked out by S&W and I have had zero issues with it in any way. Used to carry it in an inside-the-pants holster until my pants shrunk too much. Now it rides in a Bulldog cellphone holster.

Have one and love it. Extremely compact, you can literally hide it in the palm of your hand. Super lightweight, and recoil is easy to handle too. I got a side mounted laser for mine, but even with just the sights I can double tap a torso sized target with ease at 100 feet. Yes, the trigger pull is a bit much, but the rest of it's plusses more than make up for it. The LCP replaced a Taurus 85 Ultralite(which I still own).

I bought my wife one but there will be a second one bought....I have fallen for it. A true pocket sized gun and with the built in laser its a pretty nifty little package.

Do they make it in a .40. I'm wanting a carry .40. My Beretta is full size and feels great to me, but a little big to carry often. I'm partial to Beretta, but never been crazy about the storm.
I have lots of .40 rounds, so would like to stick with this caliber.

Shooting .40 in something as small as the LCP would not be a pleasant experience. I recently picked a S&W Shield in 9mm, and like it a lot. I shot one just today in .40 and it was quite manageable. The Shield is small enough to conceal with most types of clothing.

A .40 goes into a category other than a pocket sized gun. .380 is typical pocket sized and there are several 9MM on the market that skirt the line between pocket and concealable with most falling into the concealable category.
If a fella is looking for concealable there are many options available for IWB carry that are concealable with most clothing types....up to and including .45 and even 10MM.

I have a pocket gun Beretta Tomcat .32. I guess I'm looking for a conceal smaller than my full size 96.
