It depends on the area (I think). To me he looks young, but if you're not in an area where the deer will stay on your property, I'd be willing to bet someone else will shoot it before season is over. It all depends on what other deer you are seeing too.
I've let a lot pass that were bigger, and ended up not ever seeing them again, even on trail cam, so I believe that they were shot off of the property.

The ONLY way I'd ever pass that deer is if I hunted a large property of hundreds of acres and knew that there were bigger deer I would be likely to see. Hunting one 80 acre and one 33 acre parcel, I am shooting that deer. That's life for 90% of us...and I'm not complaining one bit. I would be tickled to death with that buck.

I agree it depends on the area and access to how many acres a hunter has at their disposal. For me I hunt 90% public land and the 10% private that I hunt is close to public land. This will be my 32nd year of deer hunting and I have never killed a deer over 140 inches. I have only seen a handfull of deer that would go over 140 and I put in hundreds of hours on stand every year. I let all 2 1/2 yr olds and younger walk but if a 3 1/2 yr old that is 130 inches I am going to shoot it. I have eaten my buck tag more than once. But I see some guys that have access to several hundred private acres and that land borders more private ground and they can let 150 inchers walk because they have a good chance of making it through the season.

For my area and the amount of hunters around I would have to shoot.

These people, I hunt deer not horns so I'd drop it... Then wait for a younger deer to come by. For me though it would depend on a few things, what's the management goal of the property I hunt, is it last day of firearms season, and last but definitely not least is there a coyote I can shoot instead that's only.. 20yds away If I am on my hunting property where I have sole permission or on public land he is my deer

solid 3 year old buck that would be hard to pass for 99% of us. He will put on more antler than ever in the next year if he stays alive. Met has the problem pegged though, most of us don't have the amount of ground to let him walk.

Depends if I want to that day ir not. How far is the drag, how much time to process, do I have any help, do I really want him or not.
I don't kill anything because I think my neighbors might if I pass. It has to meet my standards. Granted, those can change daily or even hourly, see the first paragraph :-)

I have had 1 camra out 6 weeks and 1 out 3 weeks. I only have 2 pictures of bucks 1 a fork horn other a scraggly 6 pt. That deer where I hunt is BIG. I would shoot and because I tinker in taxidermy and would only have cost in it it would go on my wall. No questions ask. That deer would put almost twice as much meat in the freezer as a doe. In my neck of the woods you could not pay me to pass that deer.

He would be a nice trophy for me.
I'm thinking deer have solid antlers, and horns are hollow like on a bull or ram??? Yes?

The only situation in which I would not shoot that buck is if I already had 2-3 doe in the freezer. Like many others have previously said, If I don't shoot it, the guy over the next hill will. That is an above average deer in the area of public land I hunt.
You can be certain that most guys who say that they would not take that buck, are full of it (and themselves).

In my situation, I hunt an urban property and property outside of urban. I have harvested a doe in urban so I have 2 buck tags in my pocket. On my urban property, I'm not letting him walk knowing I have another buck I can take. Outside of the urban zone, I'm letting him go this early in the season. That is me though. I would hi five and congradulate anyone I knew that took a nice buck like that.

It's personal preference on deer like this and what makes the hunter happy. That being said, a magnus stinger tipped blood spot arrow would be getting launched out of my mission bow had I been the one in the tree.
