I'm a law abiding citizen at this time, if and when congress passes laws that do away with our second amendment right, me and millions of other US law abiding citizens will become outlaws. If my government doesn't trust me with a firearm, I sure as hell will never trust it.

PRECISELY!! I imagine this "No-Fly" nonsense will not set well with the airlines or the general population (VOTERS) in our country. Actually it's rather STUPID, but what do you expect from our Government (?) When they try to make issue like this better for safe travel, it turns out to be away to weaken the Second Amendment, by outlawing gun ownership from people who happen to have the same name as a Terrorist. THIS IS TREASON!!!

I'm a bit lost on the complaint that we can buy a gun on line without a background check. Sure, I can buy them all day, but I can't get them unless I go through a FFL and he does the background check. Is this correct, or is there an easier way to buy on line? Jon, if you purchase a firearm "on-line" then it MUST be shipped to an FFL dealer. HOWEVER, if you see an advertisement in your local paper offering a firearm for sell, you can buy it "Face-to-Face" (under current laws) directly from the former owner selling the firearm. No forms or background checks, but the firearm you purchase is still has records of it belonging to the former owner.

Yep; As long as both parties live in the same State there is no Federal requirement.

greetings Once they get you on the slope it is very slippy. our doctors have to give a report to the police before they grant one a certificate for a firearm. If anyone says or shows they are depressed the firearms will be taken from you. that also includes work we have to sign to say we are not on antidepressants every six months. They are trying to copy the UK nonsense. And yes laws only apply to law abiding citizens, criminals are laughing all the way to the bank. its not good. regards Billy.

It might be a whole lot safer and cheaper to just give know gun criminals antidepressants. That would have to be cheaper than 40K a year for jail.

Taking guns is only going to affect us law abiding citizens. Won't bother the criminals in the least. In fact they're probably for it. AMEN to that!!!

Correct, that is why when I sold a sig .22 I had the buyer sign a bill of sale as well as had a notary there sign and date it. Even before I considered selling the gun to him I wanted to see his license, I know that he didn't have to have one to own a gun if he isn't going to conceal it, however if he wouldn't show me the license he wouldn't buy the gun.
I spoke with a LEO about this and he said that would be sufficient. I understand that if the guy I sold it to runs off and kills someone it will be traced back to me, however I still want to show that I did due diligence to show that to the best of my ability he was a law abiding citizen.

In todays' world; I wouldn't sell any type firearm to just anyone answering an "Ad" in the local paper. The absolute BEST way to sell a firearm is to sell it to an FFL Dealer OR sell it on an Auction like "Auction Arms". This way, one must send the firearm to the buyers' FFL Dealer where the buyer fills out the 4473 Form and has a background check on him. That way the firearm is in HIS NAME and not yours' anymore.

That's sort of what Obama's EO is going to attempt to do....make more sales go through a ffl and do the paperwork and background check.
Personally, I'm a big boy and don't want/need the govt telling me how to do something.
