As we start to move away from the rut and deer move into a winter pattern, what is your next move? I have read some articles that deer tend to move more in the evenings now and morning hunts become very slow. Focus on food and sleep in?

Seems I usually see some more rut activities on / around Turkey Day and I am certain I saw signs of the rut yesterday from my stand. When it does wind down I am looking forward to hunting late afternoons / eves near my first ever food plot.

I too saw some rut activity yesterday. Nice 8 pt with nose to the ground. No shot of course. Story of my season. Also saw a 7 pt chasing. He came right under my stand at 10:45. Also the story of my season.

I still have a decent clover plot that is green but the deer seem to not care for it. Pretty stuck in their ways with the soy bean.

I am still seeing signs of the rut. I've seen more bucks this past 48hrs than all season. And some were cruising and 2 were fighting. The does have grouped up again, however

RUT far from over. Best time to hunt is whenever you can. In full moon cycle so midday and of course evening food source's are best bet's. Had 12 does and yearlings in a alfalfa feed tonight. Watched a mature doe go to a scrape and lick on licking branch and urinate in it. Does that weren't bred in first cycle and some younger does will be coming into estrous next week to 14 days.

I'm going to Clay County in the morning. Are there any deer left in Clay County?

Rut is far from over, mid day should be good right now for lonely bucks cruising. Jon, my experience with Clay and Owen counties is that there is a lot of deer and hunters, both get a lot of hunting pressure for several reasons. If you can find a large-managed area it can be good.

Hunting by some beans from 9:40 until about 1:30 probably

I'm going to Clay County in the morning. Are there any deer left in Clay County? Jon I own property on the Clay/Owen line. Then also hunt on a couple farms on both sides of line. This year has been extremely slow for me. Good luck where ever you go.

My post rut strategy is to hunt food if I can and if not then its travel corridors to food So basically nothing new besides my locations

Although the majority of the breeding is over with, there is still some going on. I saw a dandy buck bedded out in an open field yesterday with a doe.

Far from over but I always chase the does that's were the bucks will look for a new date if they don't have a doe so I won't change much
