Has anyone else been seeing more than normal amount of nest? I have found at least 6 so far this year while hunting. 3 of them being of larger than normal size.

Not hornets, but my daughters and a niece got pretty tore up by yellowjackets a couple weeks ago. 2 year old niece had 30-something stings.

Are they up high or down low? And I haven't seen any yet but I guess I haven't been looking either

The old timers say higher the nest the more snow during winter. Hope you like snow. Lol Anywhere from 10 to 25 feet up.

Funny you mention this because there are 3 that I know of within a 5 min drive of my house and they are all up high.

I found one behind my house that is VERY high - probably pushing 40 feet. I've found four more that were not very high - three were on the same tree.

Hadn't really looked until reading this....noticed one today while hunting. Same tree that had one several years ago I had the unfortunate experience of walking by right after the farm tractor got them stirred up. Think I got stung about 30 times that day....not fun.
