"Mineral" is the most miss-used word in the industry in my opinion. Shoot even one of my favorite guys in the industry Grant Woods believes Trophy Rock is LOADED with trace minerals....
Most hunters put out attractants not minerals.

I bought a big tub this year to put corn in it, and mix in Luck Buck or 30-06; is this okay? I didn't want to dig up any ground before hunting season.
I put some molasses in there too.

From Champions page for the product you listed that has around 99% salt content.
That is nothing more than a salt block crushed up. Attractant yes, mineral lick not by a mile.

I see these products, per the video, for sale in our Walmart store. They also come with fancy high prices too. I just use those brown mineral blocks I buy from our T.S.C. stores like this one: www.ruralking.com/salt-block-trace-mineral.htmlHave great results with Deer using them and they normally go through several blocks per year. I place them out in March at three different sites on my property. Interesting video anyway, Woody <Thanks for sharing>

However, these low level amounts of minerals, should exist naturally. Deer as well as other species receive these minerals from their natural foods & licks. The only thing missing in their habitat is NaCl or common salt, and that is the big draw to these mineral blocks.

Mineral is put out to enhance and encourage a healthier deer populous...Salt/Attractants are put out merely for inventory sake. So long as one understands the difference and doesn't trick themselves into thinking otherwise I say go for it. Depleted nutrition and run down deer from labor/rutting/hard winter are not unlike humans where the intake of high nutritient dense food or vitamins boost our immune system and our overall health in times of sickness or tiredness. I personally don't know or believe minerals directly affect antler growth but that isn't why I put it out...I put out mineral to encourage and enhance simply the health of the deer that use it. The sad fact is many people push products that are no more than salt, and salt in that high of a level is no more needed than sugar in that high of level for human kids.

Ty, I won't disagree with you.
This low cost product provides NaCl to the deer which is the only missing mineral they cannot find in nature.
I have no need for trophy rocks or other type products, regular stock salt and minerals work just fine. Primary reason is to put them in front of my cameras, I have not seen any data to support the idea they offer any significant nutritional value.

I am also not interested in these products, but rather in the overall health of the Deer Herd. Some may think they need to use these "high priced" supplements to "Help" their Deer grow; but having a well balanced habitat is the best approach. I believe these products shown in the video are just unnecessary, in a well balanced habitat area, but whatever turns one on, I guess, so use them. I'll stick to using my Brown Mineral Blocks (as needed) as I have for years, both in Indiana & here in Kentucky. True, they are low in certain minerals, but It shouldn't be that hard or expensive to maintain a healthy Deer Herd.

You guys do know Trophy Rocks have the same ingredient breakdown basically to the trace blocks you've listed?
Just so you know. Again though like I've said as long as one simply wants an attractant that will attract deer for inventory purposes they will do the trick nicely.
