It's in the correct order. Got dogs don't need to shoot, got good dogs don't need to trap.

They'd start their beagles on deer to get then chasing and into shape and deer break them after. Seems like the long way around the barn to get to the gate but to each their own.

Why not shorten archery season to two weeks for all archery? I would be ok with that, I also use a gun and have no issues with them my thinking on a shorter gun season is this It seems the deer take such a beating during gun season and I'm not talking about how many are killed I'm talking about week after week of deer drives getting pushed around by more hunters in the woods and not just deer hunters but all the hunters at that time of the year. Like I said I have no issues with gun hunting at all maybe aomething like this could work 7 days of gun two weeks off and another 7 days with another two weeks off and then the last 7 days of gun just something to help keep the herd in better shape for when the snow and cold hit.

Why not shorten archery season to two weeks for all archery? If directed at my comment I cut basically both seasons in half. IMO season's are just way, way to long. I was just answering the question. In reality it will never happen.

My thoughts are highly pressured deer are harder to hunt. In reality shorter seasons wouldn't reduce number of deer killed by much , if at all. Just simply believe all season's are to long IMO. Again I was just answering the question. What would I change? And to be honest on my farm season's are already reduced by more than in half as I don't participate in late or special antlerless hunt's, muzzy and first couple weeks of archery.

Like the English Springer Spaniel guys that allow young dogs to chase after the birds once they are flushed to get a "hard flush" then have to break them of doing that for the trials. The dogs are supposed to drive the bird into the air then sit their butt down and not go after the bird until told to do so. If the shooters miss that flushed bird, that stops them from flushing a lot of other birds from the field out of gun range.

Being someone who generally works 7 days a week and has very little chance of scheduling time off the opening week of gun season now, shortening seasons simply restricts the possibility of actually making it out.
I know archery only hunters think I'm crazy, but opening the entire season to all weapons would spread the stress out. Look at it like fishing, everybody doesn't crash the lake because they are limited on time. They pick and choose their days based on available time and weather conditions.
