So, here goes one of the weirdest polls in a while! Just before my wife and I headed out for a little time off, I asked her to stop and pick me up a couple pair of brown socks. She informed me that it has become a pain to find brown socks so I told her I would get my own. Sure enough after 3 stores, I finally found some brown/tan/gold mixed work socks (by Dickies) at Meijers! I can't figure this one out! Am I the only brown sock guy? Or, does everybody wear brown socks?

As far as comfort and probably the best socks for your feet are wool. The military taught me that wool is the best to wick moisture away from your feet and dry faster, also keep another pair handy if you are hunting or on your feet all day to change them out. For work and all outdoor activities, these are the ones for me, Cabela's wool boot socks Item: IK-812018. They are not cheap, but your feet will appreciate them in the long run!

Okay duster, I knew I had issues for posting such a nutty poll! But what's yer excuse? How do you even find a men's "happy sock" site anyway?

Unless I'm wearing dress shoes and I have to be color coordinated it's white for me.

Uh yeah... You are the only one! Thanks salt...that's what I thought! And I was getting ready to invest big bucks into a brown sock factory! I'm just giving you a hard time Cotton! It's usually blue dress socks for me during the day and white ankle socks after work. I do have a pair of black Danner socks that I really like. They are comfortable and warm. It seems the current trend is loud and obnoxious for socks. My daughter wants to spend $15 per pair of athletic socks that are usually a fluorescent color.

As far as dress socks-black for me because they will go with about anything. After that it all depends on the activity and what socks are needed. When cold weather socks are needed the color makes absolutely no difference-its' all in what they are made of, with wool being at the top of the list.

With shorts, I wear white ankle socks and sneakers, but not with dress shoes.
Remember laughing at old men wearing black socks with sneakers and shorts? I did. Now it's a fashion, but I still can't bring myself to do it.
I remember being a kid wearing Chuck Taylors and tube socks; that was cool then. Now when I think about cool, it's a cold drink. LOL

Everyday with tennis shoes - white poly/cotton blend With boots - merino in an Earth tone, lt weight, med weight, or heavy weight depending on the circumstances running/working out - lt weight, sometimes medium weight, merino wool playing soccer (cleats) - lt weight, sometimes medium weight, merino wool socks inside, some big sock over the shin guards, white and other various colors
I used to get SmartWools, but they have gotten to be too expensive. I've also used Wigwams, Bass Pro, Cabelas, REI, Columbia, and a few different generics. I haven't really found much difference in them (other than the generics from Sam's Club - they shrunk and lost there elasticity).

I'm not prejudice but only where white socks. I were boots and not dress shoes , when I go out,so it doesn't matter if they are white.
