The end of America. Trump and Hillary. Both anti-religious persons. Both are big liars and for bigger government. If I was you, hide your guns. In the next couple years they will be at your door to take them.

While I was very anti-Trump in the beginning, I cannot say I still fully trust him. However, Trump as been the best opportunity to send a message to the GOP since Gary Johnson, who has to this day recieved more votes as a third party candidate than anyone, though not enough to make the GOP even blink.
Trump has everyone in politics running scared, especially the GOP. The American people still hold the ACE in the hole. Regardless of the midterm election outcome, Trump will be held in check.
If he isnt? Well, come and get them. I have enough ammo to get my own wikipedia Waco entry.

Well written Met.
Yes, I'm a Cruz backer. Of ALL the Republican candidates I liked Trump the least and that is a mouthful. To me he is a white Obama only a little more brash. If we think we have seen a lot of Executive Orders being pushed as law of the land from Obama, we have not seen anything yet if Trump gets in.
I'll be 77 this time next month so whoever gets in wont have a lot of impact on me but I fear for my grandkids and great grand kids. They will never know what the true America was all about..
God help us....

Trump, Cruz, Sanders and Clinton....
None of these four (with the exception of Hillary) would likely have gained any traction had it not been for the inability of both parties to get things accomplished. This nation is in debt up to our eyeballs and BOTH parties have failed to try and reign the spending and tax cuts in. As far as Hillary goes, the Republicans control the House and Senate and have spent millions of dollars on hearings about servers and Benghazi and promised the electorate justice when they were running for re-election. Well.... It's time for them (the Republicans) to put up or shut up and either indict the women or let it be instead of threatening her on the news channels and campaign commercials.
Finally, we (the American people) have to own our portion of the blame in this mess. We keep sending the same people back to Washington over and over again, expecting a different result and it's time we got off our butts and sent the incumbents packing and replaced them with people who are willing to roll their sleeves up and get to work.

I liked Cruz, save for a couple issues, mainly his stated goal of transferring/selling public lands.
Trump is competent. If he wins, he'll surround himself with good people. It will definitely be an improvement over what we've had the last several years.
If it's Hillary, expect the country to be pushed even further left, but it's not the end of life as we know it. I'd expect 4-8 more years just like we've had, economically stagnant and dominated by the left's social agenda.

I predict within the next decade we will see a major shift in the party system. Historically speaking, this is the longest stretch we've ever seen with the same 2 major parties. Parties used to come and go frequently until about 1856. We need to kill the electoral college and eliminate gerrymandering as well. The system is set up to protect career politicians and keep districts red or blue forever.

We need to get the States together in Article 5 and pass our on(grassroots) laws. We have 7 so far and around 7 or 10 more in a year or two. We need 34 to get a State convention and 38 to pass convention resolutions.

Article 5
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate

CORRECT!!!! Also if Hillary wins the presidency, say good bye to the Second Amendment, as we knew it, and hello to the same agenda Obama in acted on our country. For the past eight years Obama & his anti-2nd Amendment gang, have tried to find various "Loopholes" to circumvent our right to bear arms. Donald J. Trump might not be the perfect choice, but he'll be better than Hillary and certainly will repeal all those stupid E.O's Obama has pushed on our country.

I view Trump as the least of the 3 remaining evils, and the least evil of the 3. My fear is that the Republicans won't get behind him, and will push someone else. He would not bow out, run as an independant and the anti Democratic vote will be split, allowing another Dem to be elected to the White House.

He has the nomination. Republicans will fall in line and the turnout will be much greater than in recent elections.
He has a pretty decent shot at beating Clinton if he manages to not hang himself between now and then.

Still plenty of time between now and November though.

McCain ran a poor campaign, and was not all that popular or inspiring. Now Trump has a segment that does not like him at all (include me in that bunch) however you certainly cannot say he has not energized people.

Look at the turnout for the primary in this state. For a "Democratic" state, they sure didn't come out to vote!
