I have only seen 1 in Indiana however I have seen several up north. They can drill some huge holes in trees.

My parents have 3 or 4 different ones that frequent their feeders. They are some cool birds. They buy big boxes of the seed cakes and suets as well for all the other birds. They go through them pretty quickly.

Have a nesting pair in my woods that will make regular visits to our seed cake during the winter (I don't feed during the summer). Woody you know how good I am at posting pics or I would try to upload some of our pics ....best ones are on my wife's camera that I'm not allowed to touch

We get them pretty regularly; we've had a redhead recently - those are far more uncommon for us. The one that is most uncommon for us are the flickers.

I have had a new visitor at our bird feeder as well. It's a Rose Breasted Gosbeak. Never seen one before. I don't currently have a picture but, will try and get one. Also have several White-Crowned Sparrows this year. Also a first.

We have them for about a week and then they are gone..
