I have always wanted one, but thought I would never find one in southern IN. Not much call for one like it in these parts. I got lucky and got a deal on one not 15 mile from home. she's a beast. It's the largest one man saw Stihl has produced. A Stihl 090. This one has a 5 foot bar and is capable of pulling a 6 footer, but I don't see how any human could run it without a helper handle on the end of the bar. The saw and bar alone weighs almost 40 lbs. a chain and it will be well over 40. I spent the better part of the day cleaning it up. It turned out real nice for a 30 plus year old saw. Now to get a .404 pitch chain for it. I thought I had enough here to make one, but came up about a foot short. as usual.

You collecting or going to actually cut down giant trees with that? Use it as my trim saw LOL. No,actually I have an 066 with a puny 36" bar that I have not cut with in probably two years. I usually can do about anything I need with a 044 with a 20" bar. I just like working on and fixing the old ones back to working condition. I sell several saws and saw parts on Ebay and Craigs list each year. Anymore I actually only cut about a cord each year for my stove in the shop. I do a lot test cuts after working on them.

I have a lifetime of about every size, brand made except I'm getting low on 1/2" pitch chain links-sets-straps. 1/2" chain is no longer being made by any company. !/2" chisel chain is worth it's weight in gold.

What is links presets tie straps? All parts of a chain. Links are the drive links that actually move the chain. The pre sets are what holds the chain together. The straps are what goes on the top of the pre sets that keeps everything together. There is a tool called a spinner that flattens the post in the pre set that holds the straps on to them. Now I bet your really confused. You be better off to Google parts of a chainsaw chain. Pictures are worth a million of my words.
