Reading another thread, I saw where some hunters had their lifetime numbers of deer they have harvested. I found that interesting and wondered about my total. I estimate about 150-200 but its just a guess. I've killed three in five minutes before with a recurve years ago and have had as many as 6 in a season, i have had about 45 seasons but some were just a couple of hunts with no success so I'm just curious as to other's totals, care to share?

One of my idiosyncrasies is lists so I have written down all deer killed, what tree stand, what weapon, what license used, how far of shot.and how far they went. I also have a diary of deer camp that has what i saw on each sit ,buck doe and the direction they came from. I also have a list of all guns. Make, model and serial number, weather they have scope and power and make. I also have a list of fishing poles by name modle and what reel is on them. So i know sence i started hunting all but 6 of my 128 have been killed in Indiana. I took 2 bucks and 2 does a year for 10 years streight and one year with depredation permits, archery, gun and muzzeloader I took 7 deer. I hunted to.fill freezer because that is all the meat we had to eat. Now not so much. I still enjoy the hunt but if I do not kill something I am not gona eat beans and rice for a month or too out of the next year. The 6 I killed out of state have been in the last 10 years because I am in a better financial situation then years back and can aford to go on a hunt now and then out of state.

79 in 22 seasons, and I've let hundreds (perhaps thousands) walk on past over the years. A more indicative number might be everyone's average, which would take into consideration the length of time that they have hunted, as 10 deer in two years is different than 10 deer in 20 years.
My average is 3.59 deer a year.

1 deer lol this is my first full length deer season. You need to get out of the crappy north and come down here to southern Indiana. LOL! I killed 4 deer during firearms season the very first year I hunted. That's not a testament of my hunting prowess, but rather just how many deer we have running around down here. All I knew was to walk into some woods and sit down. LOL!

I have 7 woooooohoooooo! More this year than the others combined. I might be getting the hang of this or maybe global warming is helping me???
I would love to get a deer on a draw hunt. Even if it were a doe, I'd save that head.

Wish I could go where all the deer are at but unfortunately I'm stuck where I'm at. I sure am doing my best to learn all I can. Hopefully I can get on a couple bigger farms next year and that should help out some.

My guess is around 100 or so in the 25 years I've hunted. Took me 5 or 6 years to get my first and I've taken a deer every year, but one since then and that because I was living out of state that year. Most I've taken in one year was 10, but that was between Indiana and Ohio. I'd say my average for the most part is 3 to 5 a year.

I just learned how to bring them to me. There is a lot to learn, and I've learned something every year. It may work, but something else may work better. Security is very important to them. I have the food, enough for them all winter, but not secure enough to visit during the day. I have to change this. Then I have to stay out of there and pick my time. This is a recipe for success.

I know small land can still be good. I have the opposite of you. Security but not much food. I'm doing my homework and trying to figure out how to make my spot more attractive. I'll try a few things and see how it goes.
