Sure it won't hurt his feelings to rub his paws with stuff he might even start limping around if he figures out when he limps he gets pampered Yep. You got a good read on Duke, He loves that attention! And he's getting the best of it from Jack and the family!

Some times he just cracks me up. Every time he sees the hose sprayer he takes off like he's seen it before. So for a month or more everyone has kind been holding their nose around him, he is constantly wet from the creek and mud holes.
I finally gave in the other day after I was pretty ripe my self from all day in the yard and had him jump up in the little truck and closed the gate on him. Figured this is gonna be a battle soon as he sees the hose so I got it out last. Got the plant watering can, scrub brush, the pet soap, and finally pulled the hose over to the truck bed and turned it all on.
Well I cut about 3 feet off an old hose I was throwing away to use for watering plants and it just screws on the sprayer so you can turn it on and off with the sprayer handle but it just runs out the end of the hose like a hose but you can control it. I filled the watering can and soon as I started pouring it on his back, he just stood there still as a statue. Duh whut?
Squirted a line of soap from nose to tail and he just stands there. Scub a dub with the brush I use on car tires and it's like he's turned to stone. Finally I just used the hose a little to thin out the suds and move 'em around all over him and it's like he does this every day. No big deal
Just run the water right out of the hose down his back like I was rinsing off the side of the truck and he never moves an inch.
Open the tail gate and he jumps out, shakes, runs around the truck once and jumps back in like he's ready for another one.

Ours come in the house every night, so they get baths pretty regular. They all 3 hang their heads when they see us getting stuff ready, but when they're done they run laps around the yard like they've never felt better. Really puts a skip in their step.

Going trough some pics I ran across this, I see a great resemblance in Duke and Jack. This was a pic from one our hunts up North.

I cleaned out the old straw from the dog house the other day and put the heater in and new straw. Plugged the heat in today so Duke has got in floor radiant fully electric heat now on demand. I don't even have the furnace in the house turned on yet!
