went out to my family farm and now that the corn is out I can check out the woods. Must have seen 100 rubs around the woods. Farmer told me he been picking close and has seen several nice bucks. Going out there in the morning.

Looks promising! That would be an interesting spot to hang a camera.

The only problem out there is thieves, I've put camera's out before only to come back later in the week and their gone. This woods is out in no mans land surrounded by crops close to Ohio river. Lots of river camps in the area and kids on 4 wheelers. When I hunt there I have a 9 millimeter with me.

I know what you mean, I've ran people off there hunting before. I've found a patch, about 10yards by 10 yards of marijuana growing out there before as well as a meth lab. But for big mature deer this area cannot be beat, I've seen groups of bucks there all bigger than anything I've killed. Supposedly this year a double drop tine is in the area. I mainly bow hunt it because once the rut hits the deer stay on state preserve land close by.

That is why I carry at all times in the woods. This year I will be carrying ether a Glock .40 S&W, or a Sig 9mm just for a little protection. It is hard to do a follow up shot with a bow or muzzleloader if it had to come to that....

Willow trees? Deer love those willows for some reason...
I've got some young willows that end up looking like that every year.

Yes, Willows, the deer love them. They border the woods on 2 sides and every year get rubbed raw. There is another small woods about 600 yards away that has the same action in the willows. What you don't see in the picture are the bigger trees rubbed just inside the woods, these are about 10 inches wide. I expect to see something in the morning out there. Carry a S&W 6906 9mm 13 rounds. Same gun I carried when I was in LE years ago.
