greetings Over here we pay around 170 pound sterling for a tv license and that is i. we have a thing called free view and that gives your ty around a hundred channels some of them.radio channels. I rarely watch tv and it is only here for the grand kids and my supposedly adult kids when they visit.lol A lot on the tv i do not agree with being broadcast into my living room, but i wont go there for fear of insulting someone. I am thinking of doing away with it and having a monitor direct into the router and using my amazon prime to entertain the grand kids with there films, and using the radio for local news. Thinking about it all. Regards Billy

We tried an expensive antenna and it did no better then the $20 one we had so we took it back. These brown county trees and hills are hard to get signal. The only channel we get extensively is ION. CBS is the only other channel that comes in most the time. We watch most things with our phones hooked to and adapter into the tv. A lot of that is us piggybacking of my parents dish network user id. We have Netflix as well. I could really care less to even have a tv.

There is no such thing as a digital (or HD) antenna. If you have a good VHF/UHF antenna already, it should still work unless you're at the very fringe of reception. In that case, you might need to upgrade to a higher-gain antenna. There are no electronics in an antenna. An amplified antenna is a regular antenna with a powered signal booster.
Marketing ploy.
