I always wondered, can you sell roe from legally caught spoonbill? We caught one 35 years ago on the Wabash, we ate him and it was good. But never knew there was a market for the eggs. I've heard commercial fisherman on KY Lake and Barkley throw them back asap. I know they are highly regulated.

Was actually able to get on the ice today here in brown county. Took the kids on their first ice fishing trip. Didn’t measure but probably four inches of ice. Thought there would be much more and that’s about my minimum. Also realized I need to check equipment before we go. Auger was super dull. We managed to get three holes drilled and I caught the only fish. A small bass. It was a great time to be out on the ice with my kids though.

Taking snowmobiles in about 3 miles to a no name lake tomorrow. Never heard of anyone ever trying to fish it so we will see what happens. Will get pictures even if just scenic pics…lol

Got into the first lake, few small 9-10 inch perch. Marked some suspended fish that I’m sure were crappie but no biters. Took the sleds down a flowage to another lake, I’m marking large schools of crappie but again no biter’s. Going to wait it out and see what happens.
