Got so mad thinking about that time, I posted some wrong info. I not only included REMC but also our insurance company had so many homes burned to the ground they apparently have no idea how how to do something out of the ordinary and do it right. That’s the issue I had with the insurance it may of been more than 35 a month I don’t remember for sure part of it is I’m also pass the mileage for the fire department I don’t remember that number but you have to live with in a set distance for a discount. About ten years ago my I had to redo my screened in porch I must of not got the post deep enough have a lot of fill dirt on that end anyway I decided I wanted a outdoor wood fireplace so I called my insurance still cost me a 100 bucks a year for that it’s outside on the far end 15 feet away from the house but because the porch is attached to the house they consider it part of the home. This is a prefab fireplace not something I put together that’s built for wood Rant over but I’m still not over it

Supplemented heat for last 11 years...decided to not burn wood this year. I was getting anxiety worrying about flue fire. We had one a few years ago and didn't realize until I noticed damage next time I cleaned the chimney. It broke the clay liner. Had it repaired and lined with a stainless insert. Still never had comfortable feeling during the night or when at work.
Elect bill was high this past month but I am not worried about a fire. I miss the warm dry heat. I am sure it is an irrational response but things change.

People often ask me; "how much wood do you burn with your outside boiler"? My answer is anywhere between 8-15 gallons of chainsaw gas. In case you aren't aware, that's a lot of gas, LOL. Since I bought the new Echo 7 years ago I burn the same amount of wood but 1/3 the amount of gas. Honestly, unless my chain is dull, I can't run a full tank empty without taking a breather.

I run a Stihl ms660 Magnum 75% of the time, when the tank is empty, I usually need a break! LOL

For anyone that know duff will tell you, the reason he doesn't burn wood anymore is his wife refuses to cut, split, stack, and bring in the house by herself.

We heat totally with wood. Have a outdoor wood stove for the house and a small woodstove for extra cold days in my garage. I cut a lot of wood per year. But honestly I don't really mind it.

I still have mine and use it , but I will grab my 044 now that I'm getting older unless I just have to have a 36" bar

Last load for the day. I'd like cutting wood too if it was that cold 8 months a year...make you forget how miserably cold it is

budd you’re a beast. Getting it done out there no matter what the weather is. No choice really. Feb and March are the only two months I have to get wood cut.

Been heating with wood for 11 years. Insert heats the downstaira and furnace heats the upstairs. Keeps the gas bill low. Usually start in late November and burn through March.
