A lone hen came out of the woodlot across the field and fed along the edge of it.

Finally had a gobble on the next ridge over so I gave him yelps, he gobbled back then I gave him some excited cuts and shut up after that. 5 min later he was running to me. Got within 60 yards and gobbles his head off and left. He’s still gobbling now, must have been the lone hen decoy that scared him off

Sitting here this morning trying to work the birds I was so close with yesterday. Been calling sparingly and one would gobble every so often. Then I heard the bird had moved my direction some. Then Boom. Someone must’ve came in the corner of public and got him before he made it to me. Just my luck.

I went out for another short hunt before work, heard some gobbles and saw one fly down. I'm guessing he had seen me also, because he went the opposite direction.
When I was leaving for work, a tom crossed the road in front of me into my woods. He's safe for today, we have sports tonight.

Got another gobbling from the same ridge as the one came from earlier. This one isn’t cooperating though, just over there gobbling away

Got another gobbling from the same ridge as the one came from earlier. This one isn’t cooperating though, just over there gobbling away I had the same problem yesterday morning. He was double and triple gobbling, but wouldn’t come down off the ridge into my decoy spread..😡

The sharecropper farmer came to spray the field for weeds. That cut short our hunt. Packed up and headed for the food plot. Slipped around the corner of the pines by the food plot and there was a nice gobbler in it already. My grandson tried to slip up on him but that didn’t work out. Bye.. So now we are sitting in the food plot hoping another gobbler will show up.

Well….. I was out there from 4am to 6pm and I never heard a single gobble. I told my wife before I left that I don’t care if I don’t harvest a bird, I’ve just never heard a gobble before. I never heard a single gobble. I was barred owl hooting and crow calling all over the forest and never heard a peep. Toward the end of the day, I walk as far back as possible and still be inside park limits, and I thought I jumped a deer. When I finally got to where I could see into the ravine, there were about a dozen turkeys in the bottom and the moment they saw me crest the hill, they flew off like a bomb went off. After that, I sat still for 2 hours and could hear hens putting all around, but not a single gobble. What park are you hunting? Morgan Monroe
