These are out of my little secret beaver pond from last nights adventure. They are very dark for walleye.

The younger Steve with his monster pike kid had a blast we pulled in a ton of pike this size and a few bigger and some perch enough for a fish dinner anyway Had plans on going back first of March but it poured down rain making it even worse will see what weather brings but unless it gets cold and ice comes back I’m not going

Snowmobiled in to a small lake today, plum full of gills and caught maybe 15 tulipi. Everything released.

It’s always a good time not much you can do with weather just make the best of it If you had ice you could be perch jerkin' in your pond! I know very disappointed in no ice this year had it for maybe 3 or 4 days Those minnows I froze from you worked out got to keep them cold or they get mushy, unfortunately probably won’t buy them again they are going to change the law. They just changed now you have to buy any bait from we’re your fishing they have mapped it out and I was told no live or dead bait of any kind is coming soon, I can see the minnows as people could dump them in the lake when done for the day but worms and things like that seems a bit over kill I’m not sure if that will include the minnows that have been treated commercially you buy in a bag from places IDK I’ve caught eyes with leadheads with twister tails on before but tip it with a worm or minnow and the bite sure pick’s up

Curious what minnows cost down there? I buy them by the scoop in the winter, when you purchase a scoop they always throw in two scoops, both heaping. I keep them in my shop sink with water trickling on them, usually last me a week or more. Fathead, crappie minnows are $4.50 a scoop, rainbows a little cheaper, shiners are expensive, I'll check the price on them next time Im at the store. Summer months I just throw my minnow trap in one of my ponds and Im good to go, friend thats a bait trapper gave me a big minnow trap.

Not sure around here I buy them by the lb and they go in the pond for fish food I get them from essup I think he’s 15 a lb I believe that’s about 250 of them he said In Wawa is we’re I have to get them now 9 bucks per dozen I could get them just across the boarder for 7 I can’t trap them anymore not a resident way back myself and dad did still have the traps. What’s sucks if you go south out of Wawa about 20 miles your in the next area every one pass that line has to drive back to the boarder to get them about 150 miles to my knowledge not a single bait store between. The CO if he would stop you and it’s very unlikely they are far and few between but they will check your tag limit size and you have to have the receipt were you got bait that’s been law for sometime now that includes residents as far as I know
