Seems a little early to me but I found these sheds on a trail in my woods in Perry county. I know they were not there on November 17th, I bow hunted there and walked on the path 4 times that day. Found them yesterday but they have been on the ground a couple of weeks, laying on top of the grass 5 feet apart. 8 point.

No chew marks either. Now I know why, I don't see any bucks.

I have shot big does in December that were shed bucks, but every one was stressed more than normally - like a broken leg or a fresh injury. I have pictures of bucks that are in good condition in March that still have their headgear.

I shot a deer on December 8th a few years ago which dropped antlers put me and my buddy in a little bit of a uh oh scenario until we called a CO and figured out what to do and how to check it in.

In my opinion those are last years sheds. They have discolorarions on them and the one is whiter around the base than the other. I have walked past sheds several times myself and never seen then until maybe the 4th or 5th time walking past them. One year I hunted the same tree about 3 different times and on the last time saw a shed on the ground only about 10 ft from the stand and it had been there the whole time. I may be wrong but they dont look "Fresh" to me.

I use my 4 wheeler to drop off my climber and I would have run over them twice and I’ve been on that path since then once. They look old to me also but they are not chewed or gnawed on at all. I’ve found year old sheds and there’s hardly anything left. Wished I would have taken a picture before I picked them up, they were laying on top of grass layed over.

I have found them in December a few times. Once testostrogen starts dropping it can happen at any time, particurily a sick or a buck under stress due to injury or just wore down from rut.

One thing is for sure anything can happen in the deer woods. I think I had found a set in December 1 year as well. He will be a good one next year.

Anything is possible in the deer woods. About ten years back Woodmaster killed a whopper 8 pointer that grossed out at 158. The following spring he found a shed that was undoubtedly from the same buck. A perfect match. That means the antler laid there in the grass and leaves for over a year. No chew marks on it either. .

I remember an article in NAW years ago featuring really obsessive shed hunters and a couple of them claimed they often found the biggest sheds in December.

After looking at these sheds they might be last years drop. I don’t know how I could have missed them all year if they are. I would have run over them about 10 times. Stranger things have happened.

Several years ago my Dad had a young bird dog that locked up on point. We walked in and there was a nice set of sheds. It was the first Saturday of December.

I think sometimes critters move them around. I've had similar situations finding sheds like that a year later, that's all I can attribute it to...

A man who's word I trust as much as my own eyes ( hell, more...I cant see S*** anymore ) saw a decent buck still wearing both antlers at the tail end of March once.

Had a small buck walk in up to turkey decoy in April with both antlers. Couldn’t believe it.

I've seen a couple post on some FB hunting sites, showing bucks that had shed.

What do you think? Shed one side or broken? Real hard to judge at this angle to me.
