There is already a season that allows you to use any weapon you want.… It's called GUN SEASON!

Like our seasons currently. Plenty of opportunities for all.

Just trying to get people to argue with each other. Usually doesn’t work on this site. Good try though.

Not a very good question.
Is the proposal to have three months of any weapon to mirror archery? Or two weeks of any weapon to mirror firearms?

I like separate seasons. I don't like separate licenses. Just let me buy my tags and use them whenever I want.
Michigan does it, so just sayin.

I have always thought a deer license was the smarter and easier way to administer the license. Having weapon based license is just confusing
I believe the bundle license may do that now? A buck and 2 doe tags all valid for which ever season you want. Not sure, ltl owner.

I think KY works this way to. I'm 100% in the any-weapon license camp, but I do like having different seasons for different weapons. I've noticed that some people are fine with separating muzzy from rifle, but they seem to have a big problem if anyone suggests having separate seasons for crossbow and vertical bow. IMO crossbows and vertical bows are more different to eachother than muzzies and rifles. Thanks to all those who contributed this thead, I value your opinions.

Crossbows and vertical bows are very close the same. Both use a string pulled back to create line tension (energy). An arrow is placed on the string. The line tension is released and the arrow follows that path. Both use the mechanics and energy stored and released the same way. Very close the same mechanics and release of energy. Rifles and Muzzeys are slightly more different of how the energy is created.

Must be I’m a “problem” too Beermaker as it was clear as mud what time frame he was posting about, such as “Separate seasons or any-weapon season?” Most deer hunters don’t want any loss of opportunity so an “any hunting tool season” would have to be 3 1/2 months of firearms. Some folks are never satisfied or have agendas.
