Prior to my time in Italy I was a pan style pizza dude. My favorite back in the day (dating myself) was Noble Romans Sicilian style. That changed pretty abruptly when I was exposed to the wonderful world of super thin, wood/coal fired oven, super fresh ingredient pizza. Oh how I miss the days of flipping through 6-8 pages of pizza menu choices. We are lucky to have a place here in Colorado Springs that is about as close to Italian as you are going to get in America.....NOT cheap though. As for the Chicago deep dish creations, I like Malnati's and Girodano's BUT none of those pies are pizza. They are more like an Italian casserole. Tasty, but not pizza.

I was at a Band Invitational at Penn. There was a booth selling pizza in a wood fired oven.
Thin crispy crust and they made it to order with ingredients on hand. That oven was like a microwave in no time your pizza was ready. For event food it was awesome, fast and never frozen and sitting under a warmer or in an insulated bag.
There was a Pizza place at Smith & Pontiac that we bought a small personal cheese pizza for like a buck OTD. Great guy ran it and when I could talk Dad and Mom into pizza we went there to pick it up. Sadly he was shot and killed in a robbery. That was in the late 60's.

I know of one that i think is still open They must have some weird fast food deal too because I once saw a little "stand " selling some sort of frozen Noble Roman's pizzas at a gas station/gun store in WY. It was surreal. www.nobleromans.com/non-traditional/

I'll take pizza from the Gaslight in Huntingburg anytime. Sportstime in New Albany is great as well.

Almost reminds me of Chi Chi's. They were Mexican before it went crazy. Now they are gone but still sell stuff in stores.

Yeah Columbus still has a noble Roman’s and the noble Roman’s craft pizza and pub have about a dozen locations. I know Greenwood and Franklin have one. The one in Greenwood is packed on the weekends.

Love a good pizza, which I can't find any great pizza in California, but always when I go home, gotta make a stop at Pizza King or Arts, both on Broadway in Anderson. I know, probably to big of a chain (besides Arts), but mighty good. My family loves going back home with me and eating pizza there, compared to anything we have found out in Ca....SF Woody

An extremely fixed income feller like me it’s a Walmart medium take and bake deluxe pizza. Garnish it with a jar of mushrooms, a sprinkle of oregano and additional cheese and enjoy!

She asked if we wanted to get Scampi's for lunch. That and Art's roast beef...I still crave those and I have not lived there in 17 yrs.

Due to some health issues I have been doing dairy and gluten free pizza the last few years. Daiya's Vegetable pizzas are the best ones, but honestly I haven't tried any other store-bought brands and also I don't think any restaurants around here have gluten and dairy free options. I have made a few at home that had good crusts but needed some work on the toppings. So I'll stick with the store-bought Daiya brand for now.
We used to enjoy Pizza Hut's pizzas (largeish selection; cheese-filled crusts were good). Don't like Arni's pizzas, for many reasons not the least of which is that our criminal next-door neighbor and his wife manage the local Arni's. The pizzas also tend to be thin and not have a lot of flavor to them.
