ive had a bark collar on my coon dog to keep him from barking in the pen and things went wrong this week.
first of all, let me say i live in an apartment so he stays at a relatives house so i dont get to see him unless i'm refilling his auto feeder (once a week) or taking him hunting. anyway this is the first week i havent taken him hunting so its the first time its been a full week since ive seen him.
when i got to him i noticed he was barking, alot so i figured the batteries in the collar must be bad. went to take it off and once i did his neck was missing some hair and burned a little. also, in a weeks time, a growth had formed under the colllar the size of an apple and was slowly choking him. you could see where the collar was tightening around his neck. luckily his demeanor hasnt changed, he is swallowing fine and i squeezed the growth and it doesnt seem to bother him. hopefully its something the doctor can fix cheap.
i took off his e collar (and his normal collar for good measure) until i can get him to the vet but now i'm really wary of e-collars. i need to keep him quiet and really dont want to put another collar on him. what are the other options and are they effective?

I agree Kevin1! I also think that once all of these hippies are gone, capitalism will again reign supreme and we can get back to being the leader of the free world. once the whole system topples from too many takers and not enuff givers anarchy will follow and there wont be a government to regulate anyhting and free market capitalism will be all thats availiable

I like Waynr Allen Root, he is a little flamboyant at times but overall I like anyone with a libertarian philosophy and he stays pretty visible most of the time

this would get challenged and beat in a second, a treaty can not take away a constitional right

my biggest concern is the same as with anyone that Obama will nominate. their "understanding for how the laws effect ordinary folks" great idea if she was running in the legislative branch, but a supreme court judge isnt supposed to be concerned with how a law affects anyone. they only have one question to answer, does the constitution support the case before me, or not?

lets have a few more liberal presidents in a row, at the rate this one is going the house of cards ( federal reserve, massive spending deficits, welfare/warfare, healthcare, pork, nanny state....) will fall in on its self and be exposed as the fraud it all is. hopefully we will learn our lesson and it will be gone for good.

I'll give you eight good reasons to stick with a two party system: Two terms of Bill Clinton. Ross Perot's splitting the vote in 1992 gave us slick willie. one good reason to vote for who you want: the reason ross perot lost was no one thought a 3rd party could win. if all the people that wanted to vote for him but didnt, would have, he would have won

There is nothing to clear up. He satisfied all the requirements to become president .... end of story. He is ignoring the nuts ..... I would too. actually i think this is the biggest problem, there are requirements, but no one is appointed to verify them. i find it suprising the founders didnt allow a process for presidential requirements AND verification

not sure what i beleive, but there are some strange happenings. i keep up with it loosley but here's what i have gathered. i dont know if any of this is true, but usually even in rumor there is a sliver of truth
there have been a few times he or his wife has slipped and said his home country of kenya.could be nothing, but its not been a one time slip of the toungue. apparently he was accused of being foreign born during a state senate race and his reply was "so what its not like i'm running for president" like most evidence in this case, the video has disapeared
he has NOT presented a birth certificate, but a certificate of live birth, which is somehow different and easier to obtain. if memory serves me right these are issued commonly to a citizen parent who has a child while out of the country. John mc cain (born in panama) would still have an actual birth certificate as he was born out of the country, but on US land (military base)
he went to school in indonesia for a short time, which was only open to indonesian citiezens and at the time dual citezenship for indonesia and the US was not an option until a few years after he had been in school
a copy of a birth certificate cost 12.50 or something like that from the state of hawaii, and would make all of this go away, yet the administration has spent hundreds of times more than that in court fighting these accusations.

because everyone has been scared into not voting for a 3rd party. libs are warned "dont vote for the green party, it will split our votes and we will all be screwed! and conservitives are warned "dont vote for a libertarian, they will steal some of our votes and we will all be screwed!
in the end, i would rather keep voting libertarian. i dont like 99% of republicans and i dont like any democrats. the best thing for my politcal affiliation is to have a far left president, so there is a far right correction to libertarianism. and its already happening. vote for who you WANT, voting the lesser of two evils is the only true wasted vote.
FYI How many people ran for president this last time? bet you didnt know the answer is 7 did you? obama, mccain, barr(libertarian), mckinney(green), baldwin(constitution),a socialist and a communist, tho i cant remeber their names

You need to find someone to load those .270 WSM's with 90 to 110 grain bullets for varmints. Those would scream!! Probably would not even have pass-throughs on coyotes, maybe not on full grown groundhogs. federal makes a 110 grain round in a barnes tipped tsx. according to my ballistcs app its the flatest shooting round for the 270 wsm.its still going about 2500 fps at 400 yards and with a little less than 1500 ft lbs of energy. they are a no lead bullet so finding them in a state where you can shoot lead might be a problem, but you can always order plenty off the web.

this is why a truly free market is the only fair process. first of all its the only way that works, second of all people have to stand on their own merits. you keep all YOUR profit to do with as you wish, and you deal with all YOUR losses. its not my job or responsibility to help you make money

i did t say he wasnt honorable, he just isnt a conservative imo he was a horrible choice for the gop nominee for president. plenty of paties have sprung up, the democrats and republicans havent always owned the political landscape, they are just the most recent. i think for the tea party to compromise and let some of these republicans attemt to claim the movemement as their own then they might as well give up. the draw of the tea parties were they were a grass roots uprising against the typical washington class, and now everyone in the typical washington class is scrambling to call themselves a tea party member and no one wants to call them out on it

that statement alone should have him disqualified from running for political office, of which he is supposed to uphold and protect the constitution

the tea party is nothing but a joke now anyway. it was a great far right wing/libertarian movement thats been completly taken over by the main stream neocons (and worse) that the tea party was against in the first place. sara palin is a tea partier by a long stretch and is some how the de facto "leader" then she endorsed john mc cain for re election, the exact kind of non conservative democrat in disguise piece of trash the tea party was founded against in the first place

anyone care to shed some light on the taxidermy business? ive always enjoyed looking at mounts and now that im unemployed i thought i might look a little deeper into learnimg the trade as a possible escape from another factory job. i can imagine some of the tanning chemicals are tied to enviro regulations and have to be handled and disposed of a certain way, right? besides that what are the other negatives? and the positives? thanks for your time

if i saw them while i was outside near my home i would probably shoot 1 or 2 just to get some good mounts out of them, but i wouldnt ever worry about hunting them unless a specific one was said to be a problem. no sense killing themif they can get the deer population under control. deer are the real killers all over the country, how many people have died in deer/car accidents thanks to thier largest predator (wolves) being extricated from the state?

I have thought of nite calling but I don't know what kind of lite or how often I should have it on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. you can use any lite it's best to put a red lens on it i usually call for a few minutes and then turn it on and scan for eyes , you can leave it on until the calling is over The rechargeable lights work best , the kind you buy for coon hunting allow for hands free use and you can buy rd lenses for them a s well try going to www.huntsmart.com they carry several brands and type been coonhunting alot here lately and have a good amount of experience w/ there lights now. i would suggest you get the cheapest 6 volt you can (think its the coon hunters favorite) and buy the accesory spotlight. the walking light that comes w/ any of those isnt really going to do the trick IMO, tho they will do ok if you buy the HMP03 bulb for them. the spotlight is more focused, but it can see way clearer, way farther. i would also suggest a trigger stick bipod so you can hold the gun w one hand and shine the light with the other. if you are going to use the walking light, it will come with a barell clip so its hands free. as far as the red lens, ive seen both work well enuff for me
