When fully loaded the Dalai (that ship) can weigh 116,000 tons. It is said that the ship struck the bridge at 8 knots or 9 mph. That should give you enough data for a theoretical calculation. The ship was loaded with containers, but I don't know if they were full or empty.

The biggest problem with deer hunting in Wisconsin, especially the northern zone is the horrible deer numbers. Wolves, bears and a couple of bad winters really put the hurt on deer numbers. They haven't bounced back. I haven't hunted in Wisconsin for 2 years due to the cost of going and not seeing deer.
Hunting the same ground. Historically us 4 hunters would average 50% - 75% success rate or higher. Last 4 or 5 years I think now 6 hunters have shot a total of 2 deer combined. The deer population flat out isn't there.
The property is 1,700 acres. A mixture of mature woods and tamarack swamps. With light snow on the ground we may cut 1 or 2 sets of tracks in the 200-300 acres that we typically hunt. You'd think there were more deer there than that, but we just don't see them.
I stopped hunting there because of not seeing the deer, tags costing close to $200 then all the other costs associated in hunting close to 10 hours away from home.

I use Discount Tire and bought the extended warranty. Over the years they've replaced 6 tires, all at no cost to me plus mounted and balanced them. My cost was the extended warranty - it's good until the tire tread is down to the wear bars.

I seriously doubt that it was hacked or on purpose. The ship is a single screw ship, when you try to reverse them they tend to pivot. They also had the port (left) anchor dropped but it didn't catch.
I can't even begin to figure out how many hours I've spent driving a boat with an inboard engine. You have to really finesse it to make it back up the way you want. If you hammer the throttle in reverse it turns the way the prop is turning no matter what you do with the rudder.

I was going to pick up fish in Arkansas on 4-9 and they told me to come a week earlier. They said hotels were $500/night and the state will increase in population by 25% just because of the eclipse.

Time to start shoveling and plowing. And you know because of the snow the ice won't be any good even if it did get really cold.

The ship should also had a local pilot on board to guide them. The ship lost power at least twice from the video that I saw, power and lights. The ship radioed the bridge to stop traffic the first time it happened. I guess the road crew that was fixing potholes on the bridge didn't get the message. It was said that the bridge was built before they started putting concrete reinforcements around the parts that anchored it to the bottom of the river, but I also read where if they would have done that it wouldn't have helped anyway. The same ship IIRC 2 years ago hit a dock in the Netherlands or some place like that. The video that Greg shared isn't in real time - it's sped up. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZbUXewlQDk

So, I'm guessing roosting a tom the night before will be critical?

If the weather guessers are correct, it's going to be windy all week long.

Please tell me which politicians aren't in it for the paycheck and who actually care for their constituents vs just caring for themselves.

So, if they get a penalty for a tire coming off, does he get 2 of those penalties?

Supposed to see the Northern Lights too, if the clouds stay away. I have always wanted to witness the northern lights. I have seen them on TV many times but never in person. I saw them once years ago driving to work and about 10 years ago I was in Northern Wisconsin the weekend after Labor Day. They popped up and stayed dancing for about 45 minutes. Amazing.

I think a Humvee with a 50 cal on top putting a line of holes in the dirt in front of the people coming over the border would put a stop to their progress pretty quickly. Dropping them in their tracks would get the point across even quicker. If the tables were turned and our citizens were doing this to Mexico, how would they respond?

Providing they don't get rained out. They are moving up the start time so they can finish before the storms hit this afternoon. I think qualifying was only 2 sessions instead of 3.
It's supposed to be on FS1 tonight @ 7pm Eastern.

We were out a bunch today all around Knox, Winimac, LaCrosse, Wanatah, LaPorte, etc. We didnt see a single bird, but boy did we see a ton of deer! I havent seen any birds, anywhere lately. Just a couple a week ago, then dead again. I'm seeing a flock of close to 100 birds between Redwood and Grovertown daily in the evening. A BUNCH of deer of there too, that would be a perfect place to go ask for hunting permission. I'm talking 20+ deer out in the field E of the woods. Just East of 6B and Union. I have the property owners name and they live there at the property. It's roughly 65 acres

O.K., HOW do you lose the WHOLE rear-end???
The pic of the rear-end did NOT have the driveshaft attached, nor were the U-Joints on it. WHAT? Aren't they put together just like the cars on the road, a slip joint in the tailshaft of the trans and bolted to the yoke of the rear-end?
