The plan would be the new .357 handi.
I'll have with us .357 handi .410 single (slug gun) .50 inline 20ga 1100 w/scope
I have found it is never a bad idea to have back-ups or options while traveling to hunt.

firstwd have you shot the new .357 handi yet? I took my daughter to the range today and we fired a 20 single slug. The recoil I fear was too much for her to handle. I got online and started looking up the recoil of the .44 Mag and found that the .357 was much less than the .44.
I was thinking of ordering one tomorrow, and was wondering if you liked yours? Is the the black synthetic stocked one?

Actually we have not. I still need to get a scope on it. Range day is scheduled for 2 weeks when she's back with me. Yes it is the black synthetic. With as heavy as the barrel is, I can't imagine it having any recoil at all. My daughter doesn't like the 20ga "kick" either. That's why she started with the muzzy. Easy to back the powder down for target practice and day can boost it up a bit for hunting when he loads it that morning.

Margaret Shot the .357 Magnum last weekend. She did a great job. Three shots in a 1 inch group @ 25 yards. She blew me away. For the first time ever shooting the gun I couldn't have been prouder. And the kick was very very minimum. Will keep her shooting less than 50 yards. But I sure hope she puts the smack down on something brown!

firstwd - The gun is a pure joy to shoot as far as recoil goes. My 8 year old even shot it and had absolutely no issues shooting it. The recoil is very very manageable. We started with shooting the .38 Specials out of it. But man when we switched to the .357 Damn did that tighten up the groups. I stacked six shots inside a quarter. It'll take out an eyeball easy enough.

Yea my 11 year old shot the .44 magnum over the weekend. 1st time ever shooting a gun besides a .22 and 1st 2 shots were 2 inches from bulls eye at 50 yards. Took me 6 shots to get it sited in. There is very little recoil on the .44 magnum too and he loves that gun. He looked like a natural shooting it. Probably have 2 more sessions and see how he does at 100 yards before the trip.

I've already hidden the second box of ammo so she doesn't empty me out. I thnk she will do fine. I told her the other night that this one is mine, and if she likes it, she'll get one for herself and can choose the .357, the .44, or the camo .44. I see me making another gun purchase in the near future.

Just got back from the range. We shot at 25 yards and she placed 5 shot groups the size of a tennis ball. I'm gonna play with it next weekend and stretch the yardage out and tweek the scope and she'll be shooting the 50 yard range the weekend before the hunt. This gun is making a wonderful addition to the cabinet.

My daughter will be using her H&R .44 Rem. She is 13 and can flat shoot this puppy! She has no problems with the recoil. For those of you with recoil sensitive children try using a PAST shooting pad.It works wonders for them! I started my daughter out with it several years ago.Once they realize the recoil is not going to kill them their confidence level skyrockets! Following is a pic of the first range session with the .44. It loves the LEVERevolution ammo! Both groups @50 yds.The one on the left was a 4 shot group my son shot. The one on the right is 8 shot group I shot.I am going to pack this gun a few times myself this year as it is a real pleasure to shoot!
