Everybody ready? If you signed up to provide something for the hunt, post up your status.
I think Woody and Mark are there today hanging the mentor stands and some of us will finish up this coming weekend what ever they don't get. Looks like we had two that preferred to stay on the ground, but we're going to put up 4 blinds and have one premenant blind plus the duck blind has beans in front of it this year.
We'll draw numbers for stand selection, with the exception of the south properties. Anyone that wants to hunt Gibson Co. can hunt there up to 7 or 8. It is a 35-40 min. drive from camp but should be pretty good hunting.
Anything we need or any suggestions, list them here so we can fine tune this thing.

I have a bucket full of garden taters, 2 cases of Mt. Dew, 1 case of Coke, 1 case of Sprite, 1 case of Cherry Coke, Kool-Aide for 10 gallons, Hot Cocoa mix, and two cases of water. Need to pick up Milk and O.J. -thought maybe that would be best to get when we get down there.
I am packing spare tents, firearms and ammo, blind, and stand if they happen to be needed over the course of the weekend.
We are open to where ever we get directed to for the hunt.

The Princess can't get out of one of her Fri afternoon classes (jeez - can't skip class in college - what is this world comming to!) so I'm thinking I'm going to let her pick up Magnum and I'll take off work early so I can get down there by dinner time.

So what time are you folks going to be rolling in Friday? I'm skipping work and the girl child is skipping school. The plan was to leave the burg around 8 or so and be in camp by noon, if anybody is going to be around that time of day.

Jgrim, Woodmaster and I got 6 mentor stands up today. We picked stands that I remembered from last year. Someare by picked corn fields (they are really picking big time) and a couple are by green soy beans.
I'll go back up Sunday to help Timex and boonehunter finis up.
Might take the weed whacker and eat a few weeds around camp.
Timex,
If anyone is going to hunt the duck blind on the big bean field we will have to spray it for wasps first. There was a blue zillion in there this morning..

I took a vacation day at work so I plan on arriving in the morning to get off-loaded & settled-in before it gets busy around camp.

I'm working on the two entrance signs.
I've got the map pins all made up with the stand numbers and hunter names.
What food that is not donated I'll pick up at Sam's next week..
We might have some bicuits and gravy Saturday morning too. Sam's has the made up biscuits (just warm in an oven) and sausage gravy by the gallons. Easy to do..

we will probally do the same as we did last year on getting to the stands. either timex myself or woody can drive you there and guide you into it starting at the flagging or if needed to we can walk you in there to the stands. most all of them are really easy to find and all will be marked with flagging and brite eyes come this weekend. the way they were marked last year good ole ray charles could have found them. woody may even have those blinking stand locater lights again this year, those were nice.

I only have 5 of those left..I just bought new batteries for them. We can put them on the more difficult to find stands.

Going to Sam's Club this Sunday and getting all the paper plates, utensils and napkins and drinks for me and the boys. I am off Sun Mon Tues and plan on getting everything washed and packed. I got the pop up all cleaned out and ready to roll this year. I am meeting Elmo in the morning to get the 3 rolls of deer summer sausage to bring. The kids are all excited and looking forward to seeing everyone again.
On a side note, Trey got a concussion this past Tuesday night playing football. So football is out for at least a week now. He should be fine by next week. He puts 110% into everything he does. The kid has more heart and determination than anyone I know.
