Just spoke to our local CO and she hasn't had any info on this change as of 2 minutes ago. She also said it wasnt enforceable if its not printed. Bad timing on the DNR's part with all the hoopla already stirred up for a mess up like this to come about less than a week before the youth season! This is not a "new rule" persay. t was in conjunction with the other rules "dee housecleaning rules' last year. Somehow this one never made it into the "guide book". Major boo-boo. Although the "guide book" is NOT the legal definition, I think a good lawyer could beat it easily IF a mentor was cited. But, it should not come to that. My opinion - the DNR should allow this to go forwards with the mentors NOT needing a license this year and correct the printed guide next year..Face it, very few Indiana deer hunters get their regulations information from the net. Most get it from that printed guide at the place where they shop for hunting supplies.

My oh my. What a major screw up.
Good catch EVT and thanks to Woody for getting a clarification. I wonder how many dads are going afield without a license this weekend and thus breaking the law??
