Coyotes aggravate me as much as the next guy, but really gets my blood flowing is trespassers. There is nothing like sitting in the snow on a fence line in 13 degree temps just to have someones "coyote dog" run through my set up. Now if a guy wants to hunt coyotes with a dog then by all means, to each there own right? But when they start interrupting my hunt then I call foul. And the "well a dog don't know property lines" excuse is crap! The handler can at least make an attempt to contain his dog rather than set up, with three buddies, in their trucks surrounding one square mile with their radios giving out the dogs locations. That is not containing their animals as far as I'm concerned.

Same song and dance with coon hounds/hunters too. Only experience I've had with 'yote dogs was a couple of years ago when one showed up at my house Easter weekend. Owner wasn't highly talkative when he came to get the dog...

That happened to me this year during Muzzy season. I ended up killing the coyote. My property I was hunting consists of 40 acres with about 8 acres being a thicket, the rest crops and a house. Needless to say I was PO. Small fragmented properties and guys running the whole section. They know what they are doing but don't care. They should at least wait till after all deer seasons. The dog had on 2 radio collers. He is lucky he is still alive.

The yote hunters who drive around till the find a set of fresh tracks, then turn out the dogs are nothing more than poachers and trespassers. Up here in the N.E. section of Indiana I know of two groups that do this. Once the yote is up and running they track the direction, then head them off. These guys us AR's, when the yote crosses the road they cut loose. In my opinion CO's should bust everyone of these outlaws. h.h.

I know people in probably both of those groups H.H., and I know one of the groups spends a lot of time running in Huntington County. The guy I know is an idiot, and the king of B.S.ers!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has issues with these morons! Nothing but trespassers!

oneshot. They may think the same thing wait till coyote season is over to deer hunt. That would be a trick considering coyote season runs from Oct. 15- Mar. 15. Not to mention that the best coyote hunting doesn't start until after Xmas.

Cant we all just get along. They hunt coyotes you hunt deer. Todd, thats not the point. The point is these guys are hunting coyote on property they don't have permission to hunt. They are casting dogs knowing the dogs will run on properties they don't have permission to hunt and that is trespassing. They should be arrested for this criminal act. h.h.

And if your going to claim self-defense you must be able to prove that in a court of law.

Todd, Why do you feel you have the right to hunt with dogs on land you don't have permission? When your dogs get on land that the owner doesn't allow hunting and the owner sees the lights, what do you expect them to do? Invite you in for a cup of coffee. Irresponsible dog owners/handlers make it bad for all hounds men. h.h.

I don't care what THEY think. Fact. I am the only person that has permission to be on that property. Re-read my post, I didn't shoot the dog. Lets see now ........how many days would I get to deer hunt if I'd wated until coyote season is over? Are you advocating poaching? Hunting out of season? Thats real sportsman like.

They were all sitting in their trucks along the roadway, which last time I checked you are not to be shooting from roadways, but but what the heck! I dont expect the tresspassers to obey that law either. They know full well that the dogs are going to be leaving the property in which they have permission to hunt otherwise they wouldnt have a perimeter set around the entire county block. They just dont have respect for other hunters. When I started this thread it was intended to fuel any arguments and I apologize for that.
