I just received a neat invite that may interest some of you.
I start by saying that I have a very short window to fill this oppurtunity and do not know all the details as of today, but will go with what I know at this point.
We'be been invited by QDMA National to send one youngster to Bogard Ga. to a national youth hunt at QDMA Ihdquarters. All expenses paid by QDMA. The hunt is mid Oct. The youth might miss one dayof school

Dang phone posting sucks.
Again, one youth. All expenses paid. Open to under 16 youths.
So, if your interested, and are eligible and have hunted our youth hunt before or plan to hunt this years, let me know.
I have to send them a name tomorrow, so we'll draw from those that are on the list.
Pm me or call me or Woody if you want to be included

Tom, Margaret would eat this up. I don't care what the cost would be I'd get her there. Please put her on your list of possible kids to choose from. She would be so excited to go and do this.
I got a feeling this girl is going to cost me a lot of money before she grows up...I wouldn't have it any other way though.

I'm not going to tell Stephanie unless she gets lucky enough to win, but please add her in the draw.
Thank you Tom for presenting these kids with this opportunity and all the things you do for the future of our sport.

Ended this at Midnight. I'm at work and had my co-worker draw one at of a mason jar. Had 23 youngsters apply that were eligible and 3 that were over 16.
Also recieved the fine print after I had posted this earlier today, which might have altered the plans of some of those that applied. The Hunt will take place the last weekend of Oct., the youngster will actually miss two days of school, and the travel expenses of the mentor will not be paid, only the youth. Once at the location, then all expenses are paid by QDMA.
Anyway......the winner is MARGRET ROBINSON, daughter of BIG JOHN! Congrats to Margret, she attended our youth hunt last year and was a big hit and also scored on her first deer on her birthday.
If for some reason she decides not to attend or John can't take her, then I have another name that was selected that I'll release at that time. Otherwise, I want to thank all that put in and wish Margret luck, this should be a life altering experience and most like launch a lifetime hunter for the betterment of the sport.

WOW...I'm humbled and incredibly blessed at the same time. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for Margaret.
For those of you who don't know my daughter she is 11 years old / 12 very quickly. I've been blessed beyond my wildest dreams to have a daughter like her. She's just one of the kindest, soft hearted kids I've ever met. Let me give you some examples of her kindness.
Last Year we went to disney world. Never been there before so it was a first for us. I told the kids (I have two) that they could spend $10 a day on whatever they wanted and I wouldn't give them a hard time about it. The 2nd Day she picks up this Buzz Lightyear Toy Gun that Lights up and Said Something. Now the Dad in me couldn't help it, I had to tell her not to waste her money on that silly toy. Her response was it was for James. I said WHO? James Daddy, You remember him he's the one that I play with everyday. None of the other kids play with him, but him and I run around the playground and pretend we're buzz lightyear. I said "No I didn't know you did that!" Turns out he was a disabled kid with a severe learning and developmental issues. So that is what she spent HER money on that day.
I then find out soon after this trip that She skips recess and goes down and helps the lower grade kids with spelling words. And that she's been tutoring a young man in her own class, and that his grades have went up dramatically since she started doing it. The Teacher said it was one of the most amazing things she's seen in 20 some years of teaching. He's a hard boy to get through too, can't focus well, teacher hadn't had much success. But Margaret got him to learn.
I'm so proud of her, and so excited for her to get this opportunity. Life hasn't been easy on her the last three years. She's had to uproot and Start over 3 times. That's not easy for anyone, espicially when your 12! Starting a new school again, friend groups have already formed. When she get's home tonight I'll tell her, she'll be on cloud 9.
Hunting is quickly becoming her passion. When you have kids they sometimes do things just because you do them, I think they just want to make you happy. However I see the glimmer in her eye, she's truly excited about deer hunting. The other day I went to hang some trail cameras behind my house. I had told her the day before we would do that. However I got home late from work, she was in the Garden with my Wife picking veggies, so I decided to just get it done in a hurry. My wife said when she realized I had left without her, and where I had went she sat down in the Garden and Cried. She Said "Daddy Promised he'd take me, he promised Mom!" I felt like an idiot when I returned. However I guess I know she takes it pretty serious now. Can't leave her behind anymore. Gotta hang two stands at every spot, where I used to hang one....But I wouldn't want it any other way!
She was two days old the first time I took her out in the woods with me. She was Six the first time I shot a deer with her sitting my lap. She was 10 when she shot her first Doe. Looking forward to watching her continue to grow as a person, and an outdoorsman.
Thank You Tom, Woody, and QDMA for this once in a lifetime opportunity!
