We just gave our daughter in northeast Tennessee the same advice; don't take any chances. Watching the Weather Channel and local news it showed several cells fairly close to them and a few more on the way. They're setting up in their basement tonight with our new grandson.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected in southern Indiana.

Woody's rght about preparing yourself for things that you couldn't imagine. I was thru the first tornado in this list for Indiana: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965_Palm_Sunday_tornado_outbreakIt's center was 1/8 mile from the front of the house. Like a stupid kid, I stuck my head up from where we were huddled in the livingroom and watched it go by. If my mom hadn't grabbed my little sister from the bed, she would have had a 2x4 that came thru the window land on her. We came thru pretty much unscathed, friends of my parents had the house and all their belongings taken from right above their heads (they were in the basement).

Thanks Woody. Tornado did hit the next town over about 20 miles away. Destroyed a bunch of business in Murphy NC. Still storming and lightning now.

Two of them passed through Fredericksburg, Palmyra, and Pekin before assaulting Henryville. I was just 10 miles south of Palmyra at the time, the devastation was incredible. I called several friends in Pekin and Palmyra, all were safe. The images on the tv were almost beyond belief.

Debris fell from the sky all over the Madison hanover area. It's mind boggling..... little blobs of fiberglass insulation are everywhere. Likewise with the shingles...some complete with nails. ( I have a feeling that Big-O will have a surge in business soon). I have seen several complete sheets of plywood, and countless pieces of metal roofing. I drove all around Madison, and down several roads around hanover, and the debris is all over. The tornado was close, but it's still amazing to see how high all that junk went.

We have the same thing here near Rising Sun. There is insulation, vinyl siding, and big chunks of barn metal all over. I don't think we had damage anywhere close to us. My son found what looks like an empty tax folder. It has someones name on it.
