Caught near Vevay in Switzerland Co just a day or so ago in a coyote set... Look at the size of it! Was a friend of mine.

Pretty cat! I'll bet that was fun to release No doubt, where is marlin Perkins when you need him? Actually he really needed Jim, used to crack me up - they'd get some animal tranq'd, tagged and Marlin would be narrating: " and now Jim is going to release the animal and get his leg chewed off!"

With the heavy blocking, coon carcass bait, crowded up next to a large tree...looks more like a bobcat set then a coyote set to me. Nice cat.

Like I've posted. I saw two this year hunting in Switzerland county. The area is loaded with them. I now see more bobcats than coyotes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a more even balance between the two in the coming years.

My luck the cat would jump over the plywood and go to town on my neck and back!

Plywood is the way to go as catch poles are difficult with bobcats.

I'd pick a friend to help out whom you would enjoy seeing getting their privates bitten if things get out of hand.

Great picture. I saw a bobcat in Jefferson County, Indiana about 10 years ago. And I've seen several in Kentucky and Tennessee. There is a fairly healthy population of bobcats in Big Oaks NWR now days which is also in your area of southeast Indiana. The staff at Big Oaks used to have some pictures of a bobcat and a coyote feeding on a deer carcass at the same time on the refuge. The Big Oaks staff did a study on bobcats several years ago.

A friend of my brother got bitten releasing a bob cat. After taking the rabies shots, he said never again!
