I've been using my yard roller on the target ranges every week after I mow it and along the creek bank to kinda firm that up a little. Really makes the active mole runs stand out and easy to find. I need a yard roller to flatten down all the mole runs/tunnels before finding the active runs. I have about 5 traps at my mom's house and I think she has about 50 moles in her yard. They are tearing up the yard bad. I'm going to the Dr. Today and it's going to rain. I won't be able to set the traps today. I should take some pictures of all the mole runs in her 1 acre yard. Not sure if the neighbors have mole problems as I've not talked to them about that.

Sorry that I went on so long and didn't use paragraphs to separate my thoughts. I didn't go back and edit that on as I was in a hurry to get my thoughts down and then go to the somewhere. Man that is a string a mile long all stemming from moles. Impressive!

I been lagging. Noticed the traps had not been sprung in a week, last week. I killed a lot of 'em and moved out a little. Caught one and reset but I guess he was a loner.

Im not sure whats up lately. My first year in this house i had a summer long battle with moles. The last few years i set traps as soon as the first tunnel pops up, might get one or two more runs and they just disappear for the year.

Not sure if the neighbors have mole problems as I've not talked to them about that. From what I hear they're very territorial and 1 mole can tear up an acre of land quick. From experience I think that true. Last summer the guy across the road had a bad problem but never trapped them. This past spring I had 1 tearing up about an acre of my 3 acres and I caught him. A week or 2 later another 1 was starting on another acre and my neighbors place which joins mine, after I caught him me,my next door neighbor and the guy across the street have been mole free. I think the one that was tearing up the guy across the street place came over to my place and after I caught it it solve both our problems. Not sure of this but that's what I hear but then others say they catch a bunch, don't know if others move in to replace the ones they catch or they actually have more than 1 tearing things up.

One of the cats killed one the other day. I don't know if they dug it up or just waited for it to surface.
I guess my priorities are different than a lot of folks, I get mole hills/tunnels and don't think a thing about it. My dad and other people I know really stress out over them.

In the backyard the moles get a pass... Front yard? A different matter..

My wife saw the dirt moving underneath our flat feeder and got me. I can now tell you a 12GA full choke shotgun with #4 buck will penetrate adequately to kill a mole in the ground if you can see dirt moving!

I found a few fresh tunnels and reset both my traps today. Had a dead mole an hour later.
