What are the fundamental differences why they are voting for Rep. Andy Biggs and Rep. Jim Jordan vs for Rep. Kevin McCarthy?
I haven't been following it close enough to know if McCarthy is the correct person to pick or not.
I would have loved to see the talking heads explode if someone would have nominated Trump.

I think its all internal politics.
My opinion, they all stink and they're all corrupt.

Trump backs McCarthy…. There’s the Rub IMO

So to my understanding The Jefferson's Manual— that was adopted by Congress as an official rule book for Congress and the House in 1837, and the included "motion to vacate" is still in place, is it not?

That article alludes that it isn't in place now, but WHEN was it removed? If the “motion to vacate” is the only thing that is standing in the way, then I feel that maybe it SHOULD be in place. After all, if you were an employee, you don’t have the liberty of having the job without the threat of being fired over your head, so why should ANY job that the politicians hold be any different? Why have a person that is NOT doing their job stay on the job for another month, year or two years? The motion to vacate takes 1 vote to get it to the table but it would still take half the votes of the GOP to ratify it as it stands now, doesn’t it? So, what do the conservatives want?

O.K. it was the Dems during the last session of Congress (116th session) that had it removed. If it was good enough for almost the past 200 years then put it back in place exactly the way it was worded back in 1837. What were the Dems worried about back then?

Just like after the recent mid-term elections, the Republican party has managed to emerge as the laughingstock of the current news. Has leadership, or lack of, not figures out that extremism within the Democrats is what has opened the door to regain power? It is baffling to me as a life-long Republican.
Someone within the RNC better wake up and get a leash on @$$ clowns like Matt Gaetz. He and the like do NOT represent the majority of the party.

My opinion: The Republican Party is it's own worst enemy! And yes, I AM a Republican.

Well, that's the problem when you build a Frankenstein. It gets loose and you can't control it.

They have a LONG way to go to approach the record of votes to get the Speaker elected, IIRC it's 133 votes.
What really sucks is that I think the Dems can field their own nominee and if enough Republicans jump ship a Dem could be back in the leadership position. If that happens, you can bet the next time the RNC calls for money they will get a scathing earful.

Wouldnt be surprising that the left could pull that one over on the right. Got to give the dems credit, they are fierce and relentless and do ANYTHING to win!

Ask Liz Cheney I see that CNN hired Adam Kinzinger...
