Won't be shed hunting for a while. Given that bucks are still holding.... And mid-March was when I found my one shed last spring. Maybe though if I can get multiple people to go out with me at one time to one property we can search for antlers from the big one that's apparently been on trail cam there. But druggies use the area.....

Had another show up this morning still holding. Also had a couple coyotes on cam. I'm sure they pick up alot of sheds. My dogs love them.....SF Woody

Put in nearly 3 hours of walking yesterday. Saw three antlerless deer but no antlers.

Just pulled cards for week. (-0- antlered deer pics.) Last week had pics of 10 different bucks holding . Time to start looking it appears, and March 1 is my usual shed hunting start date anyways.

Went to a Purdue property this afternoon instead of a private property. 2 1/2 hours of walking, through very little open stuff and a lot of brush busting. Very thick. I even followed trail weaving throughout a cattail marsh and the marsh between the two ponds. I found a ton of sign (and even was definitely in the core area of some big buck; lots of big rubs), and lots of trails, etc. I was finishing up and came out the other side into an area with trails but decided to follow one that went right into a promising looking area with a bunch of big briars. And busted through them. And found a spot that a well-used trail went through due to fewer briars being there. I was following it out and looked to my right and there was this little 4 pt break-off lying right underneath some briars. I got a little excited until I realized not only is it chewed up, part of the base is still there indicating it broke instead of shed. But still a great find after walking for a long time and seeing only pig bones and a deer leg. Not to mention the rabbits and 3 woodcocks that made me jump a bit.

I walked right into some big buck's bedroom the other day before I found the little 4 pt antler. It's in a cattail marsh, I'd love to go back and look harder there, but it's so thick a dog and a few more people would be nice.

Good friend and training partner that lives just across the border in Ontario keeps track of the wild elk herd that stays on her property. She found this guys shed’s. She calls him Spike. Claims he is the smallest of 3 bulls that live there and that the other two have not dropped yet.

WOW!!!!!!! What does she do with the sheds? She keeps all the elk sheds, but has a website where she sells all her moose sheds. She has a stack of moose sheds that she keeps in a temperature and humidity controlled room. All picked by herself and husband, withing a few hours of where they live. justantlerz.com
