I feel the urge to shoot some clays. The Back Forty Sporting Clays in Burbon is the closest to me, although I wouldn't mind driving for an hour if other members wanted to get together and shoot at a different range. Anybody interested?? The weather is looking good for that weekend - a cool down is coming. www.backfortysportingclays.com

Well, it was a nice day at the range. I gotta talk to my sister and bro-in-law about letting their son shoot more, and maybe get some lessons. This was his first time shooting clays other than a few hand thrown birds at a friends house. I asked Ryan to watch him (my nephew Mike) shoot and give a few pointers when he shot a round of wobble trap. After missing the first bird and smacking the next few, Ryan said that he didn't need much help. Mike ended up shooting a 23 for his first round of wobble, then we started off down the Green course after a short wait. He only had one choke in his youth 870, a modified, so it had to do. He did pretty well (I think), shooting a 55 for 100 birds.
I'm happy that he did that well, and so was he. He wanted to shoot more, but I told him that we could in a week or so because I didn't want him to get into any bad habits, nor did I want him to beat up his shoulder any more than he already did. It was a bit red after the 130 or so shots today. (Factory AA target loads).
