My wife and I recieved a gift pack of spices from my father'n'law last year for christmas. They looked good and after using them pretty extensively we decided we have been missing out on some great tasting food. If any of you like to spice your food up good check out Penzeys Spice they have an internet site and some brick and morter stores. The chillie powder is awsome, along with some good rubs as well. We ended up ordering some more spices and I am here to tell you it makes a huge difference when you use quality stuff. www.penzeys.com/

Ya, most of the store bought stuff is WAY past it's prime. You should never keep spices more than 6 months at the most. And always keep them in a cool dry place.

Heres a place I buy from. Its just outside of Ft Wayne and they have sausage making supplies. They got a nice store and good people to do business with. If you get a chance stop at their store. h.h. www.suttonsbayspices.com/

If you like top shelf spices try this company: www.marionkay.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvThey're located right in good 'ol' Brownstown, and always have been, and their spices are first rate. I'm addicted to their J.R. Madd's Montreal Steak Seasoning, there isn't anything that stuff's not good on.
