The last day of muzzleloader season I shot what I thought was a large doe, but it turned out to be a buck that dropped both it's antlers. I read the regs, but I couldn't see anything specifying on whether this will be considered a buck or doe, unless "antlerless" is used to mean the same as a doe.
I haven't met Starke County's antlerless quota yet, so I plan on going out during late Archery to try and take a doe that I've seen that is missing part of her right rear leg below the knee. (it looks like it is/was broken off and roughly 4" of bone is showing). I don't have any more freezer space, and I plan on donating her. But if I see a buck would it be legal for me to take it? Other than 3 deer that I took during the Chain O'Lakes deer reduction hunt, the antlerless buck is the only deer that I've taken in Indiana this hunting season.
Thanks, esshup

A "buck" without antlers is still considered an antlerless deer.......and our regs are specific when it comes to identifying antlered deer.......a deer with one antler at least 3 inches long. Anything other than that and it is antlerless. From what you described in your post, it looks like you would be able to take an antlered deer during Late Archery (with the proper license, etc.)
