Went out Saturday morning, what a day. Gobbling everywhere, set up too close on the first bird, then the second bird the wind fooled us and we thought it was further away then it was, he was on top of us when we went to set dekes. Finally we were looking for some that were talking back to us and they were along a wooded fence row, they saw us the same time we saw them. Thought they were accross the field and they were only a few hundred yards away...My partner had just got off his 12 hour shift @ 0430 and had to be back to work that night so we left by 0930. Next week we will be hunting on his off days so we won't be as rushed. Oh well it was a blast and look forward to next weekend. Wish I could have been out there today but my partners backed out and we have to have at least one other person who works there with us at all times... This was my first time actually hunting the birds as the first time I went, my brother-n-law had me set up so all I had to do was pull the trigger. I can see how this could be a fun addition to deer and waterfowl ;D Thanks to those who gave me tips

"Good time" is what it is all about.... killing a bird is just icing on some already pretty good cake..

You're sure to get hooked on turkeys with all that action going on, especially after you nail one. Good luck.

hey duff, sounds like a great hunt, just remember those turkeys have excellent eye sight (movement is critical ,full camo is a must), just as good as waterfowl..thanks for sharing.... good luck....turkey scout
