I was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of MPG they get on their ATV's. Just wondering what an average was. I guess it could be done on an hourly time too. Don't know how that all works. I was just wondering what they get. Where I hunt I could drive an ATV too and it wouldn't be that big a deal even when it is could out. My truck get about 16 mpg. Didn't know if it would be cheaper to drive a 4 wheeler... Looking at a 500 Thanks BB

It will depend on the model you purchase, the terrain, how hard you will be getting in and out of the throttle, & your average speed enroute to your hotspot. Keep in mind that paved / hard-packed lime dust gravel roads will eat-up you knobby tires quicker. Average use should "conservatively" be at least 20 mpg on the road. My Polaris 425 Sportsman averages around 12 miles per gallon of hard trail riding the big woods of SE Kentucky. Hope this helps?

I have a 660 Grizzly and a 350 Grizzly. I have never checked the mileage we get with them, but I don't think it is very good.
My son rides the 350 and he is pretty hard on it when he is riding for fun, during hunting we just ride them to the top of the hill and park them.
I would say we get an average of maybe 12-15 mpg.
I would like to take ours somewhere where we can ride like 100 miles a day and never hit the same trail twice. I hear there are a few places in Kentucky where this can be accomplished.

I've done the 100 + mi. ride to Black Moutain from Evarts in Harlan Co. KY. Great trip. And only used about 5 gals of gas. Another reason I don't own a Polaris !

Someone has to take up rear of the pack & slowly trickle in while us Polaris guys take a snack break at the trail heads. ;D ;D ;D

Good answer but you'll never get around me to get there first ! Don't mean to hi-jack this thread but have always wonder why this forum hasn't showed more response. I know it is a 50/50 thing about ATV's and outdoor use but that still leaves 50% of us using them in a responsible way where permited and on our private ground.
Maybe time for a new thread. Maybe you, Deertracks, should start one up ? (nobody likes low number posters ! )
