This is a photoshop of what the Hanson buck would have looked like in the wild. Impressive, eh?

what a majestic animal, i dont care too much for old milo though,i think his old head has swelled up as big as the bucks rack. i didnt care how he handled the deal with rompola several years back, taking a lawyer to mich.and having rompola signing papers that he would never have his buck scored told me the old man is still making money off this deer and didnt want his meal ticket to dry up. this is just my 2-cents and it aint worth much.

I disagree, as I see it Mitch was trying to reap the benefits of claiming a world record without backing it up and Milo and his lawyer basically told him to produce the evidence or drop the claim. I don't blame Milo the slightest bit for that, money or not. IMO, there was no way Mitch could actually back up his claim so he had no choice but to sign the agreement not to have his buck officially scored unless/until the Hanson buck was no longer the world record. If anything the agreement allowed Mitch to save a little face and shifted some anger to Milo.

Impressive deer, but not an impressive hunter. I wish that shot throught the antlers that is patched up would have blown that antler completely off. Milo shouldn't have gotten that buck, someone that could have made the shot instead of just taking a shot should have gotten him. This is probably just some sour grapes coming out in me, but I have never taken a shot that I was not positive was a slam dunk. I haven't missed a deer yet, but I did shoot one twice. I went for a neck shot and the doe was still alive when I got to her. I guess it is different when you start using a HP rifle and figure that you just might connect on a long shot without practice.

You know what they say about people that haven't missed...
You haven't shot enough...

Amen Tmarsh83 !
I'm kind of on deerdude's side regarding Milo. I think Rompola got dumped on also.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for Rompola. You don't yell fire in a crowded building, and you don't scream world record without allowing your trophy to be evaluated by someone OTHER than a hand picked group of your own friends.
If he wants any credibility he needs to allow that rack to be x-rayed...

If you noticed I did say I had not missed one yet. There is always the possibility that something could go horribly wrong, but self-restaint has kept me from wishing I had not taken a bad shot so far. Even though I have found out that I passed up a dandy 12 pointer several years back because all I could make out was the vitals and wasn't sure about his hat rack. I am still glad I did not take the shot because I was not exactly certain of what I was shooting at. I am not claiming that I will never miss, I am just stating that I am not going to aim high and wish for the best.
