I really hope they get in huge trouble for this! I find it a little hard to believe that the parents did not know anything.

Yes, that ought to make you sick. For every bunch like this they catch, I promise there are many more that get away. This is why you don't see many bucks. It's not because they are all nocturnal, or hunters shoot all the young bucks. It's because they are dead, people. When I hear people talk about passing a good-sized deer in hopes that he'll get bigger, I often remark that he probably will not make it. People ask, "Why do you say that?"
STORIES LIKE THIS IS WHY I SAY THAT! If a deer survives hunters, cars, disease & predators, he still has to make it past legions of poachers.
Until we up the fines by triple, take and KEEP the weapons & vehicles used, and make the penalties AUTOMATIC and not up to a judge, bucks will still be rare.

I'll bet you some bleeding heart, liberal Judge lets them off so they can pursue their "dream" of becoming conservation officers.

I have to blame the parents for not being involved in these kids lives enough to have a clue this was going on and for not teaching them right from wrong in the first place.

I'm sure there will be some huge fines. But kids are just kids, i know i've some ignorant stuff when i was a teenager, some stuff i would be completely imbarrassed still today if everyone knew about some of the stupid crap that i got away with. I'm in no way saying their actions are ok by any measure, just saying that i've done some amazingly stupid stuff in my past as well. But then again, i didn't continue doing the same stupid stuff for years in a row!

very very sad,,, there shouldn`t even be a trial, they admitted to it,,just give 10 years for each animal they personally killed, fine the parents and take away any and all future priveledges.

It makes me wonder if their parents hunt, and if so, what kind of ethics do they have? My dad is where I learned my hunting ethics!

I'll bet you some bleeding heart, liberal Judge lets them off so they can pursue their "dream" of becoming conservation officers. That "bleeding heart, liberal Judge" would most likely be anti-gun.

I guess I am in the minority here, but 10 yrs prison, and impounding the vehicles for shooting deer?
Hell, people beat their kids, and rape women and get less sentences.
I am against any impounding of property, except the gun. This has been much abused in my opinion.
I think a better punishment would be 8 hours a day cleaning bathrooms at a state park for a summer.
