How'd everyone do this this morning? I thought is was going to be cold but was surprised to see 49 when I went out. It had also rained and the leaves were dead quite and water dropping from the trees. I didn't step 10 yards in the woods and had them blowing at me. I still proceeded to walk the additional 50 yards to my tree and set up. By 8AM I had turkeys on the roost behind me and were coming down. They were pretty vocal just yelping away. I called to them and we exchange talk for a while but never dod come within sight. At 8:30 2 nice nannies and 2 buttons came in directly below me and milled around for bit. I wasn't in the mood for a doe so I let em pass. I sat till 9:45 and headed to the house. The pic is from a cell phone so they're not the greatest quality. How is eveyone else doing this weekend? I'll be out again and will report.

Didn't make it out as the R/Knee is still limiting me to the long walk to the stand, Although am setup to see the surgen on Wed, Just love reading post about seeing deer and the Pic's are killing me. But the Season should start to get real good the next couple of weeks, hope to get a (Shot)... in the Knee, so that i can manage it out there. Be Safe. Out There Guys and Gals.....

Had 1 grunt a few times - didn't come in. Saw 6 turkeys had a shot on 3 of them - of course my daughter had a school function to be at this morning so she wasn't with me. I left them for her in the morning (I hope).

This evening was the 7th time I'd been out this season and first time I didn't see anything. It was really quite other than the breeze.

Went out this afternoon. Just had taken my treestand off my back when i heard something coming. Low and behold it was one HUGE coyote. Had him at 35 yards but right at I went to punch the release he took off. Other than that I seen about a zillion squirrels. No deer

Went out for the first time this season yesterday morning. I think I spooked more deer on the walk in than I saw after legal shooting time. I knew as I was walking in that I was going to the wrong spot but by that time it was already too late..... It was warmer than I expected too, and the breeze wasn't much of a breeze. I started letting wind testers go a little after 9, and go figure, I had a doe come walking in at 9:10 while I was still messing with the testers. She was at least 35 yards out and I didn't have a good lane anyway. I did get rather PO'd at a chipmunk that wouldn't shut up- to the point that I nearly loosed an arrow at it. I did see a small 4 or 6 point 1 1/2 year old buck on the walk out and kicked up another in the same area, but that was it. We went to a concert on Thursday night and I was almost falling asleep in the stand yesterday morning so I decided to catch up on sleep this morning and not go to the woods. ;D

Turkeys all around us this morning, one of them yelped solid for 15mn. sounded like it was right about where we hunted opening day, but none of them were in range. Daughter saw a deer that I thought I heard up the hill from where I was, too thick for me to see - she said it was 50-60yds out. Definitely have had more activity this weekend.

Fairly quite morning for me. I had one behind me about 30 yards tearing up brush but wouldn't show its face. Had another one come and blew a couple times and never heard it again. Cooler temps were nice.

I didn't go this evening. Instead I made up and stuffed several 3 pound rolls of summer sausage. They're in the fridge now and will be headed to smoker in the morning.
I'm going back up the tree in the morning tho. My son is tagging along with the video camera.

I spooked about 5 deer out from under my stand while walking out Saturday morning about 1/2 hour before first light. A couple stuck around the area and about 8:00 I saw two doe about 50yds behind me but to thick still to shoot. Then at about 9:00 I saw my first buck this year. He was coming out of the corn and into the woods about 80 yards from me, but just as he reached the woods he turned around and went back into the corn. I couldn't tell if he was a 6 or 8 pointer, but I would have let him walk. He was very big.

I was out Fri and Sat 4 times total. I saw deer 3 times, but only one buck a little 6 pointer. The moon phase really hurt this weekend, but it should be better with a new moon this coming weekend. I still have a lot of standing corn around my hunting properties so that is killing me, but I am starting to see a lot of rubs and scrapes.
