October 19th was good to me!! Killed a nice doe at 0920 this morning with Hoyt/Rage. After taking care of her I went back out into the same stande with an 11-87 and killed a hen at 47 yards. My first bird. Sounds like a long shot but it dropped her like a ton of bricks. Didn't even kick. The special part was that I killed the bird with one of ten shells that my good friend Richard Gaston's widow gave me after his funeral. I have been committed to killing my first bird with these shells. Richard was an avid hunter & fishermen and grew up in Brookville. All those who knew him miss him dearly. I think today he was looking down on me with a big grin on his face. Never forget those in the military/public service who paid the ulimate sacrafice for us. Without them our country would not be free. www.odmp.org/officer/15225-trooper-richard-terrell-gastonCorey
