Well after a beauitful Friday, and saw a couple nice deer, i moved my stand to different spot, thinking Friday would be the day. Well after watching the weatherman last night i thought better about going out this morning, They said heavy rain by 8am, Now i can hunt in rain, but not Heavy, so i slept in and woke up around 8:30am and it looked like it was just barley raining. Man was i ed, Oh well guess i"ll go get some Coffee and visit H.I Dave

Personally, I don't like to hunt in any rain. The thought of losing a blood trail curdles my blood!

Greg Miller insists that hunting in heavy rain will only get you wet. You're much better off waiting until it blows over. Bucks pretty much hunker down.

I have had good luck hunting in the rain and I have had even better right after a rain has stopped. I agree with not liking the blood trail in the rain though.

A few years ago I was on a trip hunting PA so I was going to hunt no matter what the weather was. I was hunting in the rain and at times it was really coming down hard. I ended up shooting a doe and boy was I relieved when that thing went down in sight. I hope I am not hunting in the rain tomorrow morning.

I go everyday no matter what it is doing. The season is short enough as it is not going to miss a day.

I do not mind hunting in a mist or sprinkle.... but I don't care for hunting in the rain... Like was said before I don't like not having a blood trail to follow when it gets washed away.... However I have killed a deer during gun season in the rain.... but that was a give me shot... she was about 5 yards from the base of my tree... she did not even run... just fell right over..
I do not mind getting wet... I have rain gear that I keep in my pack just in case.... I will sit int he stand and wait out a rain (if there is no lightning and the wind is not blowing too bad) if I know that it will not last.

I hunted in the rain when I young, hearty and foolish. Now I am just old and crabby. But I do not hunt in the rain. Any rain.

I have good luck just as soon as a heavy rain stops, seems like the deer really move then.

I love still hunting with my muzzy in a slight rain. You can be quiet and can really slip up on them. If it were not for Gore-tex, I may think different though.
