OK so I am writing a proposition paper for my English Argument class..... I have decided to propose a way to raise hunter numbers... especially young hunters.... I have several ideas...
Adopt a child (where children can go and sign up to be taught how to hunt.... Interested hunters would then ask for a child to teach and be assigned one in their area... this would be volunteer based so as not to take away from our already short budget)
Adopt a hunter (farmers can adopt hunters to hunt on their land, maybe offer farmers a small tax break for taking part in the program)
Offer Hunters Ed in every school.... to be taken during normal school hours... taught by volunteers.
All youth hunters (their first season only) get a license for free... (not sure how they would monitor though)
Open Park reduction hunts to youths (with hunters ed and accompanied by an adult at all times)
That is all I have right now....
So I am wanting to pick your brains and see if there is something I over looked.
Also I have searched and can not find the # of hunters (legal) for recent years... the best I could find was 2003 and 2004.. So if anyone knows where those can be found I would appreciate it.
Edit: Sorry I meant to post this in Campfire.... guess I am a little more tired than I thought.

Yep 7th grade here too..... that was back when it was offered in schools all you had to do was sign up for it..... the funny thing is back then it was not needed to get a license (and I had been hunting for years with older family members by that point) but now that it is needed they no longer offer it in most schools.
