A fellow member and I had a discussion not long ago about guys applying on-line knowing they were probably not going to attend some of the special hunts when they applied.
We both agreed that some guys apply for all of the hunts because its so easy and doesn't take any time or postage like it did in the past.
Be honest and lets see how the poll plays out. h.h.

I only applied for the late Atterbury hunt this year. Last year I applied for a couple and got chosen for one and was feeling poorly (severe cold) so did not hunt Shakamak. From what I heard did not miss much and I don't think that they even have one this year. This year even befor the depression (err recession) hit where and how much I hunted have been financially motivated. At least gas has fallen enough for more local hunting.

I didn't make it to the Big Oaks hunt, but I am definitely going to the Brown County hunt I was drawn for.

I vored on line and easy to do but I plan to make all the hunts I have been drawn for. I save all of my vacation for the first 3 days of turkey season and asmuch deer season as I can get so as far as work goes it won't be an issue.

I don't apply for any hunts as they are just not my cup of tea. Did when I was younger but do not like not knowing the territory especially in the dark.

I applied for 4 hunts very much hoping to get chosen but I knew the odds and hoped for the best. I got drawn for 2 of the 4 and to my surprise I got the 2 I really wanted. As far as entering just to be entering I wouldn`t waste my time with that.

I've only not gone to 1 hunt that I applied for, and that was because of a death in the family. Otherwise, If I'm drawn, I'm going! I hate that people apply with no intention of going, It only hurts other hunter's chances.

I hate that people apply with no intention of going, It only hurts other hunter's chances. That andit defeats the purpose of these culls... to decrease an isolated surplus population. You are "only" allowed 3. The DNR has to meet a certain Kill # to keep the biologists happy - and a no show can't kill any. So a No Show is hurting both the Herd and his fellow hunters... and shouldn't be allowed to apply the next year.
